About this ebook

This is the incomplete historical scroll which was found in that giant crack on LSAC's tennis court number 2 (placed thoughtfully in a time capsule extending forward and backward through time... because for about five months, the crack was sealed in 2017 - before rupturing again in the spring of 2018). Through careful restoration efforts and complete fictitious exertions, we bring a copy of this sacred tome to those gracious enough to lay shoe rubber on the court and catgut between the wood (or at least high tensile polypropylene between titanium-carbide polymers).
This personal photo collection starts at the end of the 2016 season, ending with the rains of the last serve in the fall of 2019 (with everything in between), and is not meant for general consumption.

Surgeons' General Black Box Warning: looking at these pictures may be hazardous to your health. We're not playing singles tennis because it's a young person's game - plus we have a sense of humor, goodwill, sense of sportsmanship ("Out! Oh, wait - serve it first, then I'll yell."), and comradery. Not to mention, by the time pictures are snapped, it means I've been playing long enough to sit a game out.

Spouses, friends, and family who live with it every day, though, they're probably immune... and potentially might be curious about putting faces to names. Hopefully this work serves that need. (Get it? Tennis? "Serves?" I thought it was funny.)
Thank you for your time. Enjoy - Bob (and crew)

The short of it: over-educated, unemployed, and annoying with a camera. Quite possibly a dangerous combination. The long of it:I've been snapping pictures for over a quarter-of-a-century on equipment ranging from a Pentax k1000 to Canon SX700hs - but nothing fancier. In fact, after they retired my Kodachrome 64 film, I hung up the 'real cameras' and settled for "digital pocket snappers." It seems ninety percent of the challenge to taking pictures is to remember your camera (would seem obvious, wouldn't it? But look around at the folks with large, fancy cameras - no wonder they claim the phone-based lens will be the death of real photography). So I do my part and pack it almost everywhere.I was a latecomer to photography, though, so I had time to grow up in many different parts of the country with my formative stage in the South, but junior high and onward in the Pacific Northwest. The last set of initials after my name tacked on by the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine - making the 'highest degree attained' line of the survey read Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.I still live in the state of Washington with my lovely wife of over two decades who continues to be an invaluable accomplice. For any hazard I manage to avoid, our son does his best to ensure we'll see an early grave.Having spent a little time teaching, I've grown to miss a captive audience to inflict my photography upon, so thank you Smashwords for providing me a forum for dispersing my imagery pain to be loosed upon the world.

Tribute to Senior Tennis - Bob Campbell

    Introduction

This is the incomplete historical scroll which was found in that giant crack on Lake Shore Athletic Club's tennis court number 2. Through careful restoration efforts and complete fictitious exertions, we bring a copy of this tome to those gracious enough to lay shoe rubber on the court and catgut between the wood (or at least high tensile polypropylene between titanium-carbide polymers). (Photographic proof some folks out on the court put some heat on their strokes as Cheryl starts her return move 2016.)

This personal photo collection starts at the end of the 2016 season and is not meant for general consumption. (Cheryl and Joyce, 2016)

(Rick, Joyce, Cheryl, Bob sit in the first day of sun for 2017 in Vancouver. Can't tell who migrated south out of Vancouver for our soggy, sunless winter and spring, can you?)
