Elizabeth is thrown upon a reef by a massive wave while surfing. When she eventually makes it back to the shore she finds the beach deserted. She goes to her car but cannot remember how to drive or who she is. Elizabeth finds the streets deserted as she walks into the city. Elizabeth searches but cannot find another person. Then she finds Michael who seems to know everything about her but she knows nothing about him. Elizabeth wants to find out what has happened to everyone else. Michael promises to help her but first she must discover who she is.

    1. EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN 

    As the waves churn above I tumble in the swirling water.

    My leash pulling at my leg as the surfboard is dragged away from me by the undertow.

    My head then crashes into the reef.

    I see blood swirl with the sandy water but have no concept of which way I need to go to get to the surface.

    The only impulse I have is to survive.

    I swim against the undertow.

    Somehow make it to the surface and pull upon the leash bringing my board to me and flop upon it. The salty taste of blood is in my mouth. I know I have to make it back to shore as the blood will attract sharks.

    The beach looks a long way from the beach. I scan the ocean but cannot see any other surfers to help. I paddle one arm after the other.

    I turn around and see another huge wave towering over me. I turn the board around and then dive deep under the water. Again I am churned by the water until I am weak.
