A collection of twenty-four classic Christmas stories from the late 1800s and early 1900s. All the stories were written for children and appeared in Christmas journals, magazines, and collections of short stories. The most common themes involve thinking about others and helping those who are less fortunate but some are just fun and focus on Santa Claus. The authors are men and women and most were popular writers in their era.
The authors include Louisa May Alcott, Mary Howitt, L. Frank Baum, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Eugene Field, Susan Coolidge, William O. Stoddard, Emma K. Parrish, Clement C. Moore, Beatrix Potter, Margery Williams, and John P. Peters.
