There were reasons I liked this book and reasons I didn't like this book. One of the reasons I liked this book is because some of the phrases are written to rhyme. For example it says, "Apostrophes help link the words and replace at least one letter. As in I'm very proud that I've helped make this lovely sweater." The reason I didn't like this book is because it is very busy and there is not a theme to the illustrations. For example one page is about a zoo, another page is about a beach, and another page is about ice cream. The main idea in this book is to provide information about contractions.

This book has many examples of contractions and their different uses. There are funny illustrations with cats to show examples in picture form so the child understands the use of the contraction. All of the contractions are in bright colors throughout the book, making them very easy for a reader to spot. The book is also in a rhyming format which keeps the text fast paced.
