Sam Austin is the author of over 25 stories ranging from short horrors to the 136 thousand word fantasy epic 'Damsel Knight.' And her upcoming series stars a protagonist who happens to have a severe spinal injury. She's very fond of underdogs, so most of her stories contain characters way over their heads. The world is going to hell.

I sit, hunched over the weapon, one eye on the television. On the screen the reporter grins from ear to ear as she tells us the ‘good news’: same sex marriage is legal in every state in America. She says it’s about time. I say it’s an abomination.

Adam and Eve were in the garden in Eden. One man and one woman. My eyes skip as they always do to the framed photograph above the television. My Eve: Meg smiles down at me from our wedding photograph.

Ten years, and it still hurts as much as the day I lost her.
