Description
Figure 1-1 Heckler Koch 69A1, stock retracted
Figure 1-2 Heckler Koch 69A1, stock extended
The Heckler Koch 69A1 grenade launcher is a single-shot, break-open, breech-loading, shoulder-fired weapon (Figure 1-1). It consists of a receiver group, fore-end assembly, barrel group, sight assembly, stock assembly, and sling. A rubber recoil pad is attached to the butt of the stock to absorb some of the recoil. The HK69A1 grenade launcher was designed to fire a 40mm grenade more accurately than when fired from a rifle grenade launcher. The retractable stock allows the HK69A1 to be fired as a pistol or from the shoulder.
HK69A1 is a single-shot, breech-loading weapon with a rifled barrel. The barrel is made of steel and is hinged to the receiver to be tipped up at the rear for loading and unloading. The single-action firing mechanism has an exposed hammer and ambidextrous manual safety, located above the trigger. The barrel latch, which unlocks the barrel for reloading, is located next to the hammer but operates independently, so the launcher can be safely reloaded with the hammer down, and the hammer can be cocked later at the necessary moment. The launcher is fitted with a polymer pistol grip and with a retractable shoulder stock with a rubber butt
