    Moss was bundled up from head to toe and was still shivering from the bitter cold. The weight of the world was tugging on him and he knew exactly what he was going to do about it.

    No matter what I do, I can’t escape it. Moss lamented miserably as he climbed on top of the rusted, steel girder. He couldn’t help but laugh grimly as he looked down at the icy, dead lake so many meters below.

    What’s so funny? a sheepish, awkward voice questioned him from behind.

    Moss turned his head and wobbled off balance, only to regain it instinctually. It doesn’t matter he said, brushing off the strangers’ presence.

    There was a moment of silence and then the oddly androgynous voice mumbled out another string of muffled words, It’s just…

    Moss turned his head again, aggravated with the freezing wind that was cutting straight into his bones. Well if you want to say something, say it before I jump. He threatened with chattering teeth. Moss rubbed at his arms trying to warm himself up, waiting for the strangers’ reply.

    Well… Sorry it’s just, how is it that you’re so calm? I just figured someone who was about to kill themselves would be a little more upset or nervous. The tiny presence shoved their hands into their thin jacket and took a few steps closer to Moss.

    You wouldn’t understand, you can’t actually. Moss closed his eyes, praying to the universe that the small, clumsy frame haunting him from behind would just disappear.

    You can try to make me understand, I really do love a good story. The small frame took a few steps closer, nervously avoiding Moss’s obvious agitated annoyance.

    Moss stretched one foot out and vacillated for a moment or two. He knew that if he just jumped and ended it, he could move on. Goddammit. He sighed as he watched the steam escape from his mouth.

    Did I say something wrong? Asked the tiny voice, moving closer and closer to the shivering jumper.

    Moss spun on his heel and jumped off of the steel girder, landing firmly on the old, crack-laden, asphalt bridge. He briskly walked up to the androgynous stranger and looked
