About this ebook

This story is for all children from 6 to 80 years of age. For a long time ago, you could find the trolls in every forest in the world. Now there is only one forest left where you can find these honest and hardworking small trolls. Earlier they were as common as the Gnomes, that looks similar to the troll. But even Elf's, Fairies and Leprechauns. The trolls are quite small, most of them are below four feet, some as small as three feet. They live today in an old forest up in northern Canada.
The Jones family, living in Florida, were having their usual discussion about where they would spend this year's vacation. As they are a democratic family and both John and Beth, their eleven years old twins, voted for the Canadian forest, and Lucille, their mother voted with them. Canada's oldest forest became this year's vacation goal.
They decided to go up by car, and on a Monday morning, they left for Canada. After four days they, at last, had reached their goal. In this forest, the troll King, King Trollgare, had decided to send out scouts to find out how far into the forest these humans had come. The trolls were sent out in pair, the two that got the most southern part, were Malik and Gilta. They had reached down to the most southern part of the forest when they heard an awful sound. It was the car the Jones family were driving. When they saw four people coming out of this huge machine, they both got scared and hid behind some bushes. Malik that was carrying a book about magic, dropped the book, and Gilta got scared again and stepped on a twig that broke. Both John and Beth heard the noise and saw the two trolls. Don't be scared said, Beth. we are bigger than you, but we are not dangerous. Please don't run away from us. The two trolls were as scared as they could get, but they stayed put and started to speak to these two humans.
Here started the full story about magic, bank-robbery, theft, and murder. And a good comradeship between the trolls and the Jones family.

Deep in the darkest and oldest forest you can find anywhere on Earth, is the place where you'll find the last remains of one of the greatest part of this planets many civilizations, the Trolls. They had for many thousand years ago, been living all over the world. In every forest, you could find, small or large. They used to live together with not only the Gnomes, that sort of looks like the Trolls. But also, with the Elf’s, Fairies and Leprechauns. However, my friend today we are lucky to find any of these fearsome, and at the same time loveable, and honest beings in any forest at all.

It is true, they aren't taller than four feet. And that would then be the tall once. Most of them can hardly touch three feet. But they are strong, and when they have set their mind on something it is almost impossible to stop them. Some people, the once that looks down on everything they see, would say they are an ugly lot. Well to stick to the truth, they wouldn't win any beauty contests that’s for sure.

With their large and heavy body, for their size of course. Large ears that on some of the trolls are sticking up above their heads. Almost no neck at all, like if their head had grown right on top of their fat body, with that huge tummy. Their big nose, that on some of the trolls reaches down past their chin. And those big hairy ears. Yuk! That on some of them are sticking up well above their head. Small beady eyes set deep in their face, warts all over their wrinkled face and you can also find the warts on that large nose they have. And with their huge hands and strong arms, they are as strong as any normal man, even if they are small.

When you meet a few of the Trolls in the forest. It looks like they all prefer to go dressed in this grayish brown sort of coverall reaching from their shoulders down to their size twenty feet. But if one of them becomes your friend, you'll have a trustworthy friend for the rest of your life. By the way, they live for between five and six hundred years, and a hundred years old troll is regarded as a youth.

Now we understand, is the fact that the King of all trolls, the honorable King Trollgare, had set his mind on taking back the reputation the Trolls had for so many thousand years ago, the trouble was the way he went about it. King Trollgare had given the usual order of the day that the oldest among them, that would be any Troll over five hundred years of age. Should meet in his cave early in the morning. Well it had to be after breakfast of course, because King Trollgare didn't want to see anyone before he had eaten his wholesome breakfast containing at least three rats, and a large frog. However, the meeting turned out to be a big success. All the other old Trolls, the once over five hundred years of age, loved what King Trollgare had put forwards. And they all agreed with their King. To get our reputation back, they all agreed, this was the only way to go.

As far as the residential needs of the Trolls were concerned, King Trollgare had the best dwelling in the entire forest kingdom. When most of his subjects had to find an old hollow tree for themselves, and their family of course. You must consider that the trees were large, and the Trolls were small. And the once that couldn't find a hollow tree had to make do with an old stump with a wind breaker to cover themselves. However, the Trolls are a hardy lot and they never complained. King Trollgare lived in the only cave within several days’ journey. To enter in to the Kings cave, you had to climb over his treasures. King Trollgare was a vivid collector of most everything.

There were some Trolls that had made small huts to live in, but there were only a few of them. Those huts were made with sticks with mud smeared all over the sticks. The mud covered the entire hut, both walls and roof. It worked well and was comfortable until the rain started. Then it all fell apart as the rain made the mud too soft, and all the mud was washed away from the sticks.

However, the Kings servants, his cook and cleaners, had to live in hollowed out bushes. The cook and the Kings retainers had to live close to the Kings cave, and there outside of the cave they had to prepare the Kings food as best they could. They all had to live in these hollowed-out bushes, because the food had to be served not later than a twenty minute after the King had woken up and gave all the other Trolls his loud signal that he was awake.

The trouble we humans had, at least to start with, was the fact that they never wrote anything down. Not even at this important breakfast meeting. So, what exactly King Trollgare suggested at this important meeting we will unfortunately never know. But my friend what we do know, is the effect of what he said at this early, but after breakfast, meeting.

The Jones family consists of Clive Jones, and his lovely wife Lucille Jones. The two of them were sitting down in their fancy living-room couch looking at their eleven years old twins John and
