I couldn’t believe how utterly stupid I was being. I swore I’d never be some ho who gets all wound up over a man, let alone a white one, but damn if I couldn’t stop staring at my boss.

Sure, he was fine. The way his white lab coat looked over the light blue sweaters he was so fond of. How the light blue of his clothes brought out the blue in his grey eyes, and his sandy blond hair. Boy was damn fine and I wanted him bad.

My crush was starting to get out of hand, though. I was making mistakes at work, finding excuses to stay late. I wasn’t acting like myself and it needed to stop or I was going to lose my shit.

It all started right at the end of college. Okay, so not ‘college’ college, but hey, just because my school advertised during Maury didn’t mean it was all bad. After a year of studying to be a medical receptionist, I was really starting to worry that I was going to be screwed, but somehow I found a doctor who was willing to hire me.

And he was hot as hell.

So while most of my girlfriends were more focused on meeting guys at the club, I had my job.
