Maurice, Daisy, and Dolly watched as the carnival came to town. The carnival traveled from afar every year to Nutville. As the three squirrels stretched on their tippy toes at the highest branch on the old, oak tree in which they lived, Maurice chattered, I can see the Ferris wheel. When the Ferris wheel arrives, you know the carnival is complete! I can’t wait to ride the rides! Each year the squirrels went to the carnival in Nutville and each year they enjoyed it more than the previous year.

This year proved no different than the rest. Spirits were high amongst the squirrels. They dreamed of ring toss, basketball hoop shots, dart balloon, fish toss, milk can toss, and the rides! Oh, the rides! Maurice could not wait for opening day. He was going to ride the rides until he could ride no more. Maurice was jumping for joy! His first ride was going to be the Tilt-A-Whirl.
