About this ebook
Joseph Herding heads home from his holiday company party with a bit too much spiked eggnog in his system. When a deer appears in the road, he loses control and ends up in a fatal car accident. Crush and mangled, certain he is dying, his last memory before unconsciousness is of a blinding white light. When he wakes up, he is lying on the cold asphalt, completely unharmed.
Joseph suspects something miraculous happened, but is unable to remember the experience. The only tip he has to go on are a few words from the driver of the car he hit: ‘five fingers, you have five fingers.’ He turns to Dr. Sherrod, a hypnotherapist, wondering if he had a life after death experience and hoping his subconscious memories can reveal the truth.
Sherrod has his own reasons for learning about life after death—saying goodbye to his dead brother. They dive into the session, and Joseph begins to tell a tale filled with wonder and horror—a story that opens Sherrod’s eyes to a world bigger than he ever imagined.

I would like to give a special shout out to my dear friend and unofficial brother Russell Connick for his invaluable advice and constant encouragement in helping make this story a reality!
I would also like to give a HUGE thank you to my editor Tiffany Dawn Munn and her little red pen. Without her immense help and in-sight I’d still be scratching my head with self-doubt wondering: to publish or not to publish? Visit her website for your editing needs!
Of course I can’t forget my illustrator, Jesus Flores, who did an amazing job on the cover art for this story. Thank you Jesus for helping me bring out the picture I held in my mind’s eye to life!
Finally, I would like to thank my best friend Eunjin Jinny Park. If it wasn’t for you Jinny, I may not have ever realized my dreams of becoming a writer. Thank you Onion!

Why my receptionist couldn’t remember to use the intercom was beyond me-despite my doctorate. After several months of trying to get her into the habit, I had now given up. I looked up, a polite smile on my face, as Rachel stuck her head in through the door after a quick rapping knock. Dr. Sherrod. Your next appointment is here to see you. Oh right! Sorry, intercom right?
I briefly nodded, and she left to retrieve my newest patient, Joseph Herding, while I finished reviewing the questionnaire he filled out last week. I was able to briefly meet him when he first came in. Tall man, with an average build, clean cut, would probably blend in with a crowd, nothing out of the ordinary. Physically he listed himself as in good health with no illnesses that he was aware of, but the reason for his visit was a lapse in memory after a near fatal car accident which occurred just months ago. Near fatal car accident, I thought to myself, hmmm. I wondered if he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Wouldn’t be the first time I’d come across something like this involving a really bad car accident.
A gentle knock on my door preceded the entrance of a middle aged man, who shyly stepped inside my office. I stood, smiling my usual wide smile, the one my wife said made me look like a movie star, and extended my hand out to him in a warm greeting that I hoped would help set him at ease. Hi, Joseph! Dr. Sherrod, we met for just a quick moment last week when you came in to set up your appointment.
Yes, I remember seeing you buzzing through.
He smiled in return, gripping my
