    About the Author

    The Dark Knight’s Sins

Lady Serelle braced her feet and stood her ground. Kindly remove your hand, Lord Peter.

He had the nerve to smile, but he did what she asked, removing his uninvited touch from the small of her back. His fingers passed over her curls, giving an accidental tug as he retreated.

Serelle suppressed a shudder – she wouldn’t show Lord Peter that sort of weakness. He’d already been testing her resolve against his proposals nearly every day.

But she would not marry him. Serelle was determined never to marry, but for some reason Lord Peter wouldn’t let it go.

He smiled, missing the hostility in the exchange completely, and swept from the sitting chamber.

Serelle paused for a moment next to a narrow window overlooking a green expanse of lawn, and past that the Arilye Sea. She needed to compose herself. The constant defense against Peter’s advances had her on edge. She strained for a glimpse of the waves, which always calmed her.

Gulls careened and dived down at the beach, calling others to join some sea-brought feast. On the other side of the Convent, she could hear
