About this ebook
Initially written as a wedding present for his cousin, the author has now revised the book and made it available for the public to enjoy. Detailing the changing relationship between the author in his youth and his cousin as they grow up together and grow up apart. Witnessing his cousin change as she grows up ahead of him gives him an idea of what life has for him ahead yet he doesn't have a complete picture of what to expect. Will their friendship remain pure as it once was or will they be alienated from each other as they spend less and less time together?

Hi!Life has brought me all over the world and thrown different people into my path. I've started writing at the age of 15 and found that writing not only functions as a way to record the past but also helps articulate my thoughts. I like to write what I call 'fictionalised truths' where I base all my stories on real life events but add or take bits and pieces away to make them more exciting for the reader.

For Jocelyn

Chapter One. Preface.
Though I spent very little time with my dearest cousin Jocelyn, I have accumulated very many memories with her. Strangely enough, though I know she is many years my senior, I still don’t know her exact age. Most of the time we lived together I was only very little, but I do have some distinct memories, so I'll try and fill in the blanks with my imagination.
I'm not going to be old and wrinkly and boring and say how time flies and how big she is now and stuff like that because I'm younger than her, much younger, she's the old and wrinkly and boring one now. That's what happens when you get old, right? I'm going to go through all the cool things I know she did for me and probably didn't realize how much of it shaped my image of her. She probably doesn't even remember doing them. I'm here to keep the memories alive. Everyone wants a book written about them, something to leave behind, a legacy for their children to pass on. Oh, she doesn't, well too bad, she's getting one anyways.
I've seen her quite a lot until primary school, and then I only got to see her once a year for a few days at a time. I'm writing all these chapters and sections on separate days in the little free time I have from work so I apologize in advance if I repeat anything or if some bits and bobs don't follow, use your imagination like I do. I've removed all other characters apart from grandmother and grandfather, who are only there as supporting characters so the plot makes sense, they are there to replace all of the other adults that were actually there. I have removed all specific geographical references and added in extra detail that weren't originally there so the story itself and the experiences and the relationship as presented in this book remain as pure, as simple and as true as I have experienced
