About this ebook
More poetry - my third book of rhyme. Always rhyme. I'm sure it's not just a personal thing, don't you agree that poems written in rhyme give you a better feeling.
It can be difficult to find the rhyme you need, but it's invariably worthwhile. I'd prefer to trash the poem if I can't make it rhyme.
And the title of the book? Well, it's the eye. It holds secrets, but also reveals the truth. Eyes are mysterious and beautiful. Stare into the eyes of someone new - what do you see? You'll find a few poems here that play with the idea that eyes are the window to the soul - even if they don't actually say it.

As I continue to write, a great deal of my inspiration comes from the internet. This is why you will see that each of these people is listed by their Twitter name. I’m still inspired by the things around me, nature being one of the most important things in my life. However, the following people have inspired me in different ways – to write about love, life, nature, or just for fun.
Some of these people will already know they’ve inspired me, others may find out when this book is published. I hope they are pleased with the results, as I am grateful for their inspiration.

1 INTRODUCTION

Rhymes:
I like Poetry. But, in particular, I like rhyme, so all of the poems in my book rhyme. Sometimes this means that I can discard a really good poem simply because I can’t find the right words to say it in rhyme.
This is my third book of rhyme.
Initially, when I wrote my first book of rhyme, I included a brief explanation with many of my poems, so that the reader would know what was going through my mind at the time, or what had inspired that poem. That is why I titled it Little Book of Rhyme... And Reason
. I continued this idea into my second book, Below a Tree...
, and you will find it again in the pages of this book, as well.
A large proportion of the poems are tweetable – 140 characters or less, as I want to be able to respond to events or comment on things that happen around the world – and what better way to do it than in rhyme. The other reason for many of these poems being so short is that I have been taking part in the weekly V0Ella poetry competition (@V0Etry). There’s no prize for these competitions beyond the praise or appreciation of others who also contribute in the same way.
As ever, I’ve grouped the poems into categories –Nature – Love – V0Ella – World Events – Life and Fun. The good thing about these distinct categories is that they’re not that distinct, some poems could fit into more than one category. I could have just left the poems a they were written, like some time-line, but I thought that if people have favourites, they will be easier to find this way.
So, it only leaves me to explain the title of this latest book, Eye 2 Eye
. I found myself thinking a lot about eyes – how they can tell you so much about a person (or seem to). We use our eyes so much for communication, not only giving off signals, but in reading them too. You will find several poems in this book that pay homage to, or hint at this important feature.
2 NATURE

I hope my poems say more about this topic than this brief description can ever do. The rhymes here cover most of the year from winter through to autumn.
There’s other stuff here too, a poem about eyes, another about space, but I would draw your attention to one of my favourites: Spring Flavours.
However, we start in December – just after the publication of my second book of rhyme:
1st December 2014:
There’s a few leaves clinging
