About this ebook

(This is the second of three in series.)
Through past life regression, contemporary psychology and hypnosis make open the truth of reincarnation. Souls repeatedly come in flesh, reincarnate into the world. Past life testimonies tell us that reincarnation is endless and that there is no heaven and hell. Shall we be happy about it?
The widespread beliefs in reincarnation seem to contradict some doctrines of the faith and serve as a tough opposition for the Church. Will the Christian faith as the Church teaches it become obsolete given these evidence on reincarnation? Will it happen as Jesus says in Luke 18:8 “.... And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Pius M. Sumaktoyo is trying to understand and reconcile these seeming tensions between reincarnation and Christian teachings. Pius finds Jesus did teach about reincarnation. The teaching was lost for a reason: as Jesus says in Matthew 13:26-29, the wheat were treated as weeds.
Pius identifies the uprooted wheat—Jesus’ teachings that are now outside the canonical Bible. They provide an explanation of why the cycle of reincarnation seems infinite. They also illuminate why reincarnated souls say nothing about heaven and hell.
The question, then, is there anything in the Christian faith that offers a stop for an endless reincarnation?

    Bibliography

    Preface

This is my second book about Christianity and reincarnation. This comes from my contemplation for the period between 2000 - 2011, from 46 to 57 of my age.

A human grows up from a fetus to a baby to a child to an adolescent and to a mature one; so it is with my faith.

The switchover of my faith from childhood to adulthood experienced a transition with full of tribulation. I was born Catholic, but turn to an atheist when I was 20.

It took about 20 years for me to pass my adulthood of faith development. It was from age 20 to the beginning of 40. As a computer programmer who rely on logic my faith was filtered by my logic. In my first book (Searching for Reincarnation in Christianity), I write my faith experiences from the period. In the book, I expose about a hypothesis, I named Schematic of Opportunities.

By the end of 1999, I met a new friend, a Christianity library devotee, Donatus Lepe (1952-2000). Don was a man in support of my seeking. In one of his comments, he told me, There are many gifts; knowledge accompanied with the openness of heart and mind is a great gift. It doesn't all have. Many had limited themselves and satisfied with what presents. He told me that I will not meet difficulties to receive the knowledge which is till now hidden or intentionally pulled aside by the authority.

Don introduced three books to me, they were: (1) The Secret Teachings of Jesus, (2) The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus The Christ, and (3) The Lost Books of The Bible and The Forgotten Books of Eden. It was because of the first two books I gladly deepened my contemplation.

Incidentally, following up the acquaintance, I discovered some other books in support of reincarnation. The problem was, those books describe reincarnation that are not in line with the Christian faith I wrote in my first book. It is true, those were the heaviest challenges of faith that I had to face.

Thank to God. The tangled thread finally ravelled. Joyfully, I renew my hypothesis of the Schematic of Opportunities. Therefore, I write this, my second book.

What this book is about? It is about finding Jesus, the cut-end of endless reincarnations, the cut-end of the endless grief of humanity. It is about replanting the uprooted wheat of Jesus’ teachings - Matthew 13:26-29, the parable of the wheat and the weeds. In the Nicean Council and the processes after, our Church fathers had incidentally mis-identified Jesus’ teachings as false teachings; they made mistake in identifying the wheat as the weeds. How important is the uprooted wheat? The Gospel of Thomas, Saying 66, Jesus said, Show me the stone the builders rejected: that is the cornerstone.

Additional notes, prior to Smashwords edition, 2016: My personal Christian faith is developing. I have written three books on the same topic. Now, I am writing my fourth book. Purposely, I did not melt and rewrite the three, into one book. I deliberately let the books remain to be in its original contemplation period. The books show the track of my development, with that, I like to encourage anyone to be courageous and to be honest to find God. God is good. God loves humanity. God will help. One thing I am sure, there are Christian treasures, Jesus’ teachings, await to reveal.

    Introduction

Jeremiah 29:13-14 tells us that, God will not hide from whomever with his heart and soul ask for Him.

It had been more than ten years I finished my first book, Searching for Reincarnation in Christianity. I knew from the beginning, my writing is not in line with the Church teachings. The Church does not teach reincarnation.

The year 2000, Earth and its insides entered a new millennium. I observe, the millennium offers a new alternative of self-recognition. The recognition exposes a new way and value different with what the Church teaches. Starting the year 2000, there are a lot of books which simply say that reincarnation is. Modern psychology and hypnosis have uplifted the experiences of souls which are breaking open a lifetime. Now, communications with souls are treated as disclosure of experiences and no longer considered as taboo or heresy.

Some of the books discuss new self-recognition. With the new recognition, I see humans’ life is likely a place of borderless grief. Souls come in the flesh again and again, to repair mistakes they had done in the past. The souls come to study something new, with a purpose to become perfect and proper to reunite with The Source (Newton, 2006). A soul might come as a pauper to learn about empathy for the poor, for it had failed when it became a rich one. A soul might come to be a very humiliated one, to overcome the shame, its success will enrich itself and others as well (Schwartz, 2007). A soul might come to be a handicapped, because in the past it cruelly had cut broken the hand of an innocent. A soul might come to be a human defected by bomb but it did not put to owe a resentment to the doer, in this way it could testify a life of forgiving (Schwartz, 2007). A soul might come to be something else with its own reason and purpose.

Some people are glad that reincarnation is, it means the end of a failed life is not hell. However, for me, living as a human is not about a pleasing. Why? Because, I look into most all seriously, not only about myself but also about others. I see the grief of humanity presents on and off endlessly. So many things stay beyond control, so many things walk unattended. For the reasons, I am serious about the life after death. I am serious in looking for God, to know His kindness, to know the reasons I am here? As a computer programmer, I have a habit to use my logic in my belief practice.

In trying to understand the kindness of God, I who am a Catholic entrapped to trust the existence of reincarnation. However, I satisfied my logical, I found that God is true supreme good. Outside of reincarnation, I mean in the traditional Catholic faith, the kindness of God is felt to force.

In my first book, I write a hypothesis in the form of a Schematic of Opportunities. With the hypothesis, I moved forward to understand the purpose of humans’ life, I understand the reasons to live. Now, all are flowing smoothly without enforcement. Humanity did not start their existence here on Earth, they started their life in heaven. Heavenly humans made a mistake in knowing their existence and in knowing God. Heavenly-humans fell into sin and improper to be in heaven. Here on earth humans live to find out its identity and to know the true God. Christ came to offer His divine-help, to introduce the true God, and to transform humans for being proper to reunite with the true God. The key of the Schematic is to accept the offer, that is, to believe in Jesus Christ.

I was glad to know that my hypothesis is not wrong. My friend, Don Lepe, introduced two Christianity related books which are more or less giving the support for the truth of reincarnation.

One day I went to a bookstore, I pinched off a book entitled 50 Spiritual Classics. All my three children enthusiastically read the book, I have not read it. Later, my eldest son bought a book entitled Journey of Souls. The book is one of the names in the 50 Spiritual Classics. Then, he bought another book entitled Destiny of Souls.

Journey of Souls (Michael Newton Ph.D., 1998) is a book written based on research involved many responders. To the religions believers who classically entrust Adam, heaven, and hell, the book is provocative. In the book, we find the stories of souls come and go into and from being humans. There is no definitive hell, there is no definitive heaven either. Same as the human-on-earth are trying to live a good life, that they might come into heaven to unite with God, the spirit world also is in a fight to unite with the source. More or less the same with the human-on-earth, the spirit world also have schools; the schools make an evaluation to the recently passed life and then to plan the way to succeed in elaborating the coming lesson. The essential purpose of reincarnation is self-improvement (Case 8).

I was surprised reading Destiny of Souls, Case 29 (Michael Newton Ph.D., 2006) about a communication between a soul just return from an earthly life with its guide. The newly arrived soul proposed a protest on feeling to be blamed for its failure. ‘I TELL HIM, YOU GO TRY MY LIFE FOR A WHILE! (p. 159)’. The guide took his life log file, showed his life-on-earth experience where as a young man being torn apart by lions in an ancient Roman arena for his religious convictions (p. 159).

My imagination went to the early period of the Church. In the Roman age, many believers went to the middle of a beast arena. Now, a question arises: If they, whom known as the martyrs are staying here, then: Where is heaven?

Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls gave inspirations to many warm discussions in my family. I thank goodness because I have passed through the many developments of thought, that I am no longer restricted to stiff the classical way. I thanked my friend, Don Lepe. He introduced me the rare Christianity libraries. The Church does not accept the libraries, however, its contents had given me an initial enlightenment of self-recognition. So, I was not made hopeless by what are inside the Journey of Souls and the Destiny of Souls.

Then, we read some other books. In all the books, I tried to find any about Christ, I tried to find how the spirit world knows about . Unluckily, I found nothing. This is odd, because the Schematic believes that Christ is the cut-end of reincarnation.

However, my inner-heart and thought persisted that Christ is the cut-end of reincarnation. I insist to understand that this confidence is a serious work I must do.

    Disclosure of Endless Reincarnations

When humanity stepped up from animism (believe and worship many spirits) to monotheism (believe and worship many gods), it was something big.

When polytheism stepped up to monotheism (believe and worship the only one God), it was something big.

When a man learned to believe in the single life chance, once he went to a distance where he saw the many lives he has passed, he saw no heaven and or hell; it is something big.

When the spirit world doesn’t know Christ, for me it brought a big question mark.

I name these, the disclosure of the interaction between the physical and the spirit world. The disclosure is at the same time invites joy and sorrow.

Though it was hard to prove, I had formerly been gladdened to think and to believe in the existence of reincarnation. I was gladdened because through the path of the thought, my common sense could find that God is good; God is not a punisher; God is giving opportunities instead of punishment. I was also pleased to believe that heaven is, which means the grief of reincarnation will once end.

The disclosure confirms that reincarnations exist. After all, I was made sad in finding there is no promised heaven as a place of absolute happiness. I felt acrophobia and sorrowful, because I was not a man to enjoy my life with pleasure. I know that at anytime the inconvenience will come, easy or hard. Fate, it includes community – natural disaster – regulation – unfairness – greed – uncontrollable event – and many more, is waiting patiently to turn around a happiness into a sorrow and or the contrary. It is true, heaven and hell are likely come to roll on earth.

I once agreed there is no fate, we ourselves control our fate. However, if fate includes all the uncomfortable forms, saying proudly that we are powerful over fate, by itself it collapsed.

The disclosure brought me into fear and sorrow, for, reincarnation to continue without end. Is there any opportunity for correction that Christianity to offer?

    Passed Through Temptations

I write my first book just to rise a hypothesis that reincarnation is not a contrary to Christianity. I would then hand over further examination of whether it is right or wrong to whom having the more complete library.

The complication for a Catholic to believe in reincarnation is, about the role of Jesus Christ as the savior. However, through an honest seeking and in submission to the Holy Spirit, I found an understanding of the correlation between reincarnation and Christianity. Christian reincarnation is reincarnations with a cut-end through and in Jesus Christ.

Near after I finished my first book, it came to me the pulled aside Christianity libraries. It enlightened my common sense, as well, I got the support to the existence of reincarnation.

On reading the books, I had a great desire to write my second book. I had a great wish to pull up something new about humans’ self-recognition. I had a great desire to show, that the ancient library of Christianity knows about reincarnation.

With the running of time, my wish to write did go up and down. It often came up a question within: Is it necessary to write? Am I not doing something wrong? This is my note, dated November 18, 2006:

I see the Lord’s face staring at me piercingly and without smiling. As usual, I always try to look for an answer of why do? Passing an introspection, the face of the Lord did not change. Suddenly, I remembered Benny Hinn who often preaches about what the Bible teaches with the declaration of miracles. I feel this book which I am writing is better canceled. For, while I am still looking for the hidden things, the Lord has confirmed the truth of the
