A Wee Moment Wi' Me: Book of Poems
()
About this ebook
A delightful collection of poems from a Scottish lass. These poems will make you laugh, encourage, inspire, uplift and strengthen you in your spiritual walk. This collection includes a poem written in true Scottish lingo which gives the non-Scottish reader a glimpse of Scotland. Written with a gentle rhythm, they are easy to remember and quote to others.
In between the rain—
we leave the hoose wi' umbrellas
sunglasses, a pair a wellies and
aw four seasons try tae catch us
the sky dispatches
hail in patches
through a sunny veil—nae wonder we look pale!—
In between the rain
From The Manual:
When you see the world changing and wars on the table and
nothing is stable
don't let fear bring its hook
take a look
at the end of the book—He wins
So, hush now, don't be worryin'

Monique was 15 when she sat (was tested for) her English 0 Grade (similar to elementary grades in the States) and "attempted" the descriptive essay section. All her English teachers advised her not to go there as descriptive essays were deemed to be tackled by only the exceptionally gifted. Needless to say, she received a rebuff for her attempt and was told to steer clear of descriptive essays when she sat the higher grade. This dented her confidence somewhat so she didn't go there for a long time. She is in her 50s now and for the past ten years she has written songs, short stories and some poetry; and she also dabbles in painting now and again. She says, "I guess I have just decided to be me, to share a wee part of me, the things I like, the way I see life, observations and expressions. If anyone likes anything I write or paint, that is a wonderful bonus!”Monique is married to Paul. They have two sons, Thomas and Martin, two stepdaughters, Pauline and Jennifer, two wee step grandsons, Matthew and Nathan, and a wee King Charles Cavalier called Wallace. Monique and her family live in lovely Paisley, Scotland which is known for being home to many artists, writers, and singers.

I thank the Father for who He is, for steering my pen and for providing the grace and favour needed to produce these lines.
I dedicate this book to my family who have tolerated my outbursts and inbursts through this whole process and many other processes.
To my husband Paul, who has seen me through all my endeavours and encouraged and supported me in every one regardless of the outcome. Thank you for going the extra mile(s).
To my sons, Thomas and Martin, just because of who they are, proud of you both.
