Chapter 1

It’s not true it can't be. My parents and I still stood frozen in place. It can't be, it just can't it’s not possible. I couldn't stand being in this room with them anymore. I thought all the lies were over.

Why keep this secret? Why not tell me? Even if I was going through things, I still deserved the right to know. Not being able to bear the betrayal I ran out of the room and left the house. I needed to think.

I kept running until I reached Nicks house all out of breath.

Nick was standing by his car taking out boxes Cloe what are you doing here? he looked up shocked.

Then noticed my car wasn’t here Did you run here?

My parents… just told me.... I'm Clare’s sister. I panted; man I’m out of shape.

What!?!?How!?!? Nick shouted.

My parents…when they were younger… had... fight and… broke up for a while and… so my mom dated Clare’s dad during that time..... I couldn't finish since I still hadn't caught my breath.

Man I need to exercise more.

Cloe take a breath. Nick looked at me worriedly.

I nodded and began breathing deeply until I finally was finally able to breath properly I continued. So when my parents got back together my mom was pregnant with me. At first my father thought I was his until my mother told him.

And so you mean they kept this from you for all this time why? He asked, after processing everything I told him.

They thought I wasn't ready but after everything that happened they decided to tell me? I sighed.

Cloe they probably didn't want to spring all of this on you at once… Nick frowned.

But this makes me wonder what else they are keeping from me, I groaned in frustration.

I guess you have to wait and find out cause after this they'll probably wait until your calm! He sighed.

But I need to know what else and I want to know, I huffed crossing my arms.

Nick, get yourself over here and bring your bags inside!! Nicks father shouted making me jump a little.

Coming dad!!! Nick shouted back.

Guess I should go… I sighed turning to only remember I had run here.

Oh god how am I supposed to do this twice.

No come in for a bit my dad won't mind. Nick brought me back from my thoughts.

I nodded because I don’t think I’m going to be able to run back home without having a heart attack. Nick goes to his car and gets all his stuff out of his car then we head inside. Nick puts the boxes in a corner then turns to me.

Sit here and wait Cloe, he said pointing at a chair.

I did as he said and took a seat. He ran out of the room leaving me with my thoughts so many questions and questions flying around my mind.

Nick walked back in with a cup of tea and put it in my hands Drink it it'll help you calm down.

Slowly I sipped the hot cup of tea Cloe your parents-

Are you referring to my mom and her husband or my mother and birth father? I cut him off angrily.

Cloe that’s still your father he raised you your entire life-

NO HE LIED TO ME MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! I cut Nick off again.

Cloe he raised you and loves you he's your father, he sighed.

I couldn't say anything else now so I handed Nick the tea cup and he left the room. How could my life become this messed up. Problems, problems, problems why couldn't I have it easy. No powers, no sister, no nothing just me my parents and Nick. No Paul issues if only there was a way.

Maybe there is young one, a voice said suddenly.

Wait who said that? How could anyone hear me? I frowned looking around the room to find the owner of the voice.

We don't have long just say this and everything will change, a paper appeared on the desk in front of me.

What are you? I asked,

A guide, now I must be off goodbye my child, she said softly.

Wait! No please don't go, I frowned.

She was very small had blonde hair and blue eyes and a very poufy dress on. So many questions were swirling in my head.

Just say the spell and everything will change… She said fading away.

When she was gone all I had was a piece of paper with a chant. Should I read it I thought. It wouldn't hurt, so it was decided. I began chanting and chanting. Soon I was a circle of wind, when it cleared I was in my parents car. What the heck just happened?

Cloe aren't you excited for your first day! My mother said excitedly.

What first day I've been going here for months? I frowned in confusion.

Sweetie did Cloe bump her head? My father asked worriedly.

No? Is she coming down with the flu? My mother leaned back touching my head.

Guys I'm perfectly fine, I laughed slightly swatting my mom’s hand.

Ok, well here we are, my mother announced.

See you at home… My father grinned at me.

I get out of the car and walk into the hall. Well that's strange everything looks exactly like my first day here.

Suddenly I bump into somebody, Oh sorry.

I should really pay more attention, I thought.

It’s ok, I said picking up my books.

Let me help you and my name is Nick... I looked up and saw those beautiful eyes that I loved.

Jones… I smiled wondering why he was telling his name though.

Yeah how’d you know? He asked as he looked confused at me for a moment.

Because... I started then a voice popped into my mind.

Cloe this is your guide,

Guide what happened?

I put you in another dimension.

What? How?

I am warning you not to talk about the other life.

Sorry child I must be off.

I hate how she does that.

Hey you ok? A hand waved in front of my face.

Yeah, I replied blinking and shaking my head quickly a few times.

So how do you know my last name? Nick asked again.

Cloe, just remember what I told you guide said in my mind before leaving again.

Oh Ummmm you look like a Jones…? I mentally face palmed myself.

Really Cloe? Really?

Ok… so let me show you around, he offered me a small smile.

I don't want to impose- I started.

You won't, it’s the least I could do after making you almost fall, he cut me off.

But wouldn't your girlfriend mind? I asked remembering that he and Clare were together in the other dimension.

I don't have one… Are you sure you’re ok? He asked worriedly.

Yeah, I nodded.
