Now that Brody has promised Emma to give her all of her first’s things are looking up for their relationship. That is, until a family tragedy threatens to either bring them closer or tear them apart. Chapter One:

I waited until Thursday to tell Mere about Brody taking me to the dance.

You still really have feelings for him don’t you? She asked from where she was lounging on the bean bag in my room.

I glanced up from where I was coating my nails with polish. He’s my best friend, Mere.

She rolled her eyes, Did you sleep with him when you guys were together?

I shook my head, No, he wouldn’t do it.

I saw her make a face out of the corner of my eyes, That’s weird. Nonetheless he’s still your best friend who’s tongue you’ve had in your mouth and vice versa. You obviously had feelings for him, besides you guys used to tell each other you loved each other.

I capped the nail polish bottle and set it on my nightstand. Fine, yes I still really have feelings for him.

She gave me a look of sympathy, And he sleeps with all those other girls when he’s got a gorgeous one in love with him waiting for him.

We cut it off because we didn’t think it would go far if we had to keep hiding it. I waved my hands through the air to get the polish to dry.

So let’s get him back. A mischievous grin slipped onto her face.

Both of my eyebrows rose, How are we going to do that?

She got up and walked into my closet, What’s your limit with showing cleavage?

What? I jumped off my bed and followed her.

Like an inch? Inch and a half?

Whoa, um how about like neither? I watched her dig through my clothes. What are you doing?

I’m picking out your clothes for tomorrow. She said simply, pulling out a pair of skinny jeans that I rarely wore because they were skin tight. Why don’t you wear these?

Because I have to paint them on. I took them from her.

Good, take this too. She handed me a white t-shirt that I typically only slept in because it was pretty tight too.

Mere, I want to get his attention, not look like a hooker.

It’s a t-shirt and jeans. She looked at me like I was insane.

And they both leave me no room to breathe. I countered.

Fine, fine, put a sweater or something with it, but make sure you were a colored bra or something with lace. She moved to my dresser.

Like I said— I started, but she threw a nude, lacy bra at my face.

Wear this. You won’t see the color, but the lace will show a little bit. It’s hot and he’ll notice, trust me.

He’s coming over tonight. I sat on the edge of my bed with the clothes on my lap.

Flirt like hell. She advised, picking up her stuff. I gotta go, I’ll see you tomorrow alright and then I can get you sexy as hell so he’ll melt at your feet.

I rolled my eyes as I followed her all the way downstairs and to the front door, Thanks Mere, you’re the best.

I know! She chirped, before closing the door behind her.
