Chapter One
Just Another Day
So, there are people who wish to hear yet another tale about the most idiot lumberjacks in the world? Well, one must find them amusing or be bored. One or the other to want to hear about this mess of men who were stupidly trusted with axes. One probably shouldn't refer to them as lumberjacks, but no matter! On with the tale!
Oh, and no, I, the narrator, will NOT disclose my identity. I refuse! My reputation is on the line, and it would be ruined, RUINED, if it were known I associated with these... men. Anyways...
It was yet another noteworthy day at Chop Tree Lumberjack company. And hopefully it was more noteworthy than the time they went searching for that shiny screwdriver... Well, one can hope, even if the probability was extremely low...
At the moment though, no trees were being cut. No, all seven lumberjacks, with Chuck shaking in the middle of them, were locked in battle against dangerous and huge rattlesnakes! They all had their axes and were chopping the reptiles in pieces! One would call them brave if they didn’t know how stupid they were. Which was everyone, except Chuck, in these parts. At least one hoped that was the general opinion of them...
Hey! Where did all these rattlesnakes come from? Yes, they are in a swamp, but for so many to be attacking them all of a sudden? After all there were none seen in the last tale! I suppose a flashback is in order...
*Flashback*
Lumberjack Bob was merrily chopping down trees while Lumberjack Fred was working the machinery. When one says he's working it means part of the time he is doing his job of moving trees and removing brush, and the other half he is dropping all work to clean even the tiniest speck of dirt off of it.
Let's clear out that brush over there!
