Race for the Wizard
()
About this ebook
A town hires a wizard to deal with their pirate problem. The pirates get the jump on him, and try to capture the wizard. The townspeople and the pirates make a deal: whoever reaches the wizard first, gets to keep him! Along the way, they encounter goblins, traps, and talking animals in a fun story where even the wizard is not who he appears to be.
Children ages 4-6 will love the silly characters and adventure when you read it to them. Children 6-10 will be able to read this with very little help.
All the proceeds from this will go to the college fund for my daughter, Ziggy (pen name). This story was written from bedtime stories told to her when she was 5. She supplied many of the characters, and made their decisions. I just provided the framework and detail.
Ziggy Butterfly
Ziggy Butterfly is the pen name for an 8-year-old American girl. Her father has written stories she created, and she collects any sales. The stories are fun for any age, but will mostly appeal to kids 6-12.

Race For The Wizard
Chapter 1
Once upon a time there was a village called Henvens. It was on the coast of a huge sea. This made it very beautiful, and there was plenty of fishing for the people who lived there.
But it also meant that there were always pirates around.
These pirates, led by the cruel Rathbaggar, would raid the village all the time. Tons of pirates would come into town like they owned the place. They'd steal the money, eat the food, make a mess and leave.
And they wouldn't even clean up after themselves.
The people in the village finally had enough. They needed help. The smartest person in town, a woman named Bela, had an idea. She had read a lot about magic, and she always wanted to learn how to do it. In her studies, she learned of a wizard named Aramis in a far off land. They sent a letter to him, pleading for help to protect them from pirates (and the occasional goblin attack).
They received a letter back, from Aramis the wizard himself, saying that he'd be glad to come and help them with their problem. He told them he would arrive on the following Tuesday.
Word spread throughout the town, and everyone was so happy. But everyone talked too much about it and Rathbaggar overheard the plans. He couldn't have a wizard stop him from having anything in town any time he wanted. So he decided he was going to kidnap the wizard. That way, he'd have a wizard to do things for him.
My very own wizard,
he thought, stroking his dirty beard.
