About this ebook

If only someone had ever cared enough to let you know that love could one day turn into this excruciating, soul-consuming war that makes you want to reach for the nearest knife and jab it right into another person's neck; surely you would've taken a few seconds longer before you said "I do".

You have probably heard that a wise man once gracefully said that Love is patient and that it is kind; the validity of the wisdom is in his word unquestionable; yet from where you stand starring down at the ring on your finger, you begin to appreciate that, alas, those were only words.

How did the two of you get here?

Author

Abigail Davids

The vibrant, beautiful, comically intelligent Abigail received her degree in Psychology at a local university just a few years after graduating college honors and surprisingly, refused to practice as a Psychologist at any institution. This, she said, was because she had realized halfway through her studies that people, humanity and the human experience, cannot be categorized into diagnostic classifications as this would deem the entire world population a bunch of lunatics. Luckily, she says, there is yet hope each and every day for each and every one of us.6 billion rays of sun for 6 billion people.

    Dedication

I dedicate this book to my beautiful mother, affectionately known to those close enough as Rose-Mary Lemon (readers need not get this, it’s an inside joke of sorts). This woman has been my strength, my motivation and my trusted ally since day zero. Thank you Dear Mama.

Secondly I would like to dedicate this book to my two amazing sisters who are my best friends, my worst enemies, my circle of bosses and my teachers. I couldn’t have been me without either of you, thank you for making all the mistakes that you guys have and availed their lessons to me in the loving manner that you have all my life. I know I am a pain in the rear end but I always mean well.

Last but not least, I dedicate this book also to the person without whom this book probably could not have had a story. You have made me realize that experience is the best teacher but only if one is willing to evaluate the experiences we go through. I have learnt a great deal about love through you. I am thinking about you as I write this book and at this very moment on 21st of May 2015 at 17:02 and I can only hope that life will be kind to you. To the world around you, you are a blessing in disguise and only those who know what to look for and not what to look at; there is a treasure of love, hope and faith hidden within your heart. If I cannot love you as a man, I will love you as a person.

    Introduction

It is sixteen-forty-seven in the afternoon; You have had another of these seemingly frequent long days; one uphill battle after the other, getting through duty to duty like the great wife that you are to this handsome stranger who at one vague moment in history, fell in love with you enough to marry you and you, him.

You have realized your dream (well every girl’s dream as a matter of fact); white picket fence, 2.4 kids and a German Shepard… wet nose and shiny fur too.

But it is sixteen-forty-seven now and lo’ and behold, dinner is on you… again.

It is not that you are complaining or being ungrateful, you know? It’s just that sometimes, somewhere not too far in the back of your mind, usually around this time when you know he is on his way to you and that he would be walking through that door at any moment, when you have this… silent, secret, well-masked(dare I say) dread for your husband’s return home.

    Gasp!

Did you just say that out loud?

It all started back with that issue you guys had that one time, or was it three times? You don’t know. You’ve stopped caring enough to count. All you know is that he has just never been the same man that you thought you had married since.

But more importantly, for our information, it is not so much him that you dread; it’s the fact that whenever he’s around, you feel his dread for you. That makes all the difference then, right? Right!?

So I used a nasty word in the title of my book. Big deal! First of all, shame on you for reading it anyway. I mean, I bet that is even the very same reason you were attracted to the book in the first place, isn’t it? Obscenity sells.

The title of this book may not be as easy to warm up to when you realize that you are actually the one on the receiving end of the statement and not the one making the accusation. To understand this book you need to understand that it is written from one woman’s reflective perspective on why he (husband) has that unspoken resentment towards you as his wife. Hey, maybe by now it is a spoken resentment already… and at this point, woe to your thoughts; you just feel that you might be on the verge of or at the pace of a glacier, heading towards…something. You should know.

A couple of lines ago I used the term reflective perspective to explain the viewpoint from which this book was written. Now, save for pop-psychology; Reflection is about seeing yourself through the eyes of an objective source. Let it be known that the emphasis in that statement is on the word objective; which simply put means to see or analyze something with unadulterated fairness.
