This book captures a cross section of stories from across the state. They tell the tale of sightings - the smell, the size, where they were and how it happened.
"... he was easily seven and a half feet tall and roughly 800 pounds of muscles and hair - not any fat on him. It had both dark hair and dark eyes and it was obviously a male. It seemed unconcerned ... "
"If he wanted to he could have ripped me in half,"

Bigfoot Lives in Idaho - Becky Cook
Forward
My purpose in writing this book isn’t to prove or disprove the existence of Bigfoot, but rather to offer graphic evidence in the form of eyewitness stories that they exist for those who choose to believe. Many folks I talk to have said that the whole Bigfoot phenomenon is a hoax, that there can’t possibly be a Bigfoot as there isn’t any tangible evidence. I think otherwise; that there have been visual sightings by reputable, honest, sober folks and there is corroborating evidence – footprints, handprints, vocal prints, videos, pictures, and hair samples.
For those who have had their own sightings – they don’t need more proof; they already know what they saw. It is incredibly amazing to have validation of an otherwise unusual experience though, and that is what this book offers.
For those who want to know more – there are websites devoted to the compilation of data – footprints, pictures, sounds and hair samples. Some of these websites are included in the Appendix of this book. This book just offers additional information.
For those of you who choose not to believe – what are you doing reading this book? If we all are crazy then you just joined the ranks.
Welcome to the club of Bigfoot Believers!
Since this is my book, I will begin with my own story. It is what started it all for me and reading it might explain more of my own interest in the Bigfoot phenomenon.
Moreland
I was born and raised the first decade of my life on the Shoshone – Bannock Indian Reservation near Fort Hall in Idaho. For years, when I was younger, I heard numerous stories of Bigfoot. They were told in eerie quiet moments and most folks took them seriously, or at least didn’t laugh when they were telling them. At that time I wasn’t sure whether they were completely real or not, not being able to trust the validity of the people telling the stories. Many of the Indians respect and even revere the Bigfoot and when they speak of it, it is often with awe or reverence.
My family moved when I was eleven and settled in a very rural area about 30 miles to the northwest of that reservation. The area was so wild that it was common to see rattlesnake, deer, wolves, vultures and eagles on a nearly daily basis. My brothers and I loved to roam in the lava rocks surrounding our farm and often went hiking when our chores were done.
I am a very tall woman, one of the tallest women in the United States and especially in Idaho. At this time this all happened I was easily the tallest woman in Bingham County where I lived. While this fact is not pertinent to this story, it will help explain why the following incident happened.
When I was 16 and nearing six feet and six inches in height, a new family bought a home about three miles down the road from us and we would visit them fairly often, as they were our closest neighbors. One day the oldest daughter of that family called and asked us, my brother and I (He being nearly my height by then), when we had been down to their house lately. I was sure that we hadn’t been near their place in about three weeks and I asked her why she thought that we had.
This lady was going through a divorce and often went for long walks to clear her head. She had been out walking in the rocks and found some huge footprints and was sure that we had been down there, and she wondered why we hadn’t stopped
