About this ebook

"You can run but you cannot hide" - Something that Kristy Bradley knows only too well.

Having escaped the seedy core that is the Big Apple, and leaving a Mafia don convicted of her alleged kidnapping, Kristy created a new life for herself as Penny. She finds her soulmate in Z, and they are living the perfect life together, blissfully happy on her sprawling Scottish estate.

That is, until Melissa Chisholm has a chance encounter with a dated magazine article revealing Penny's true identity. With intentions as pure as her naivety - not to mention the million-dollar reward - she has no idea of the perilous danger that awaits her arrival in New York.

Now the race is on for Penny and Z to protect all that they hold dear.....each other.

Apparently this book is a sequel, but that did not seem to be a problem in enjoying and following the story. It can be read as a stand alone. It starts with Melissa, a banker sitting in her dentist's office. She sees an ad offering a reward for information into the whereabouts of an American, Kristy Bradley. Melissa recognizes the picture as the person she knows as Lady Penelope or Penny. A romantic at heart, she heads off to New York to meet up with Michael Bradley to help him find his missing wife, of course the money doesn't hurt either. As it turns out, Michael is not at all what he appears. Meanwhile we meet Penny and Z, the narrator of the story. They are madly in love, but Z has not idea about Penny's true identity. When the mob boss who is in prison for the death of Kristy Bradley finds out that she is alive in Scotland, he sends his goons over to kill her. The race is on to save Penny, get the mob off her back and punish her husband. There seem to be a few gaps in the ensuing action, but it is still a good read. I will now have to go back and read the first book.I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A Tale of Three Cities is the second novel to "Greater Expectations" and is a continuation of the story of Z and Penny. I actually enjoyed this novel even more than the first one. It seems to have a lot more depth and seems very well rounded. Don't get me wrong. I did like the first one but I found the second one to be even better than the first one which is the way consecutive novels should be. This second novel has more suspense, adventure, and yes a touch of romance but what I really liked was the development of the main characters and the introduction of other main characters. The first novel was light and funny but this one takes on a darker tone that is resolved in the end. I am hoping that there are plans for a third book (hint hint). A bonus is the fact that this book can be read as a stand alone novel.
