    Split the Baby? - Apollos Rivoire, Jr

    SYNOPSIS

    This is a fact of which most people are not aware. More babies have been surgically aborted in the world in only the past 37 years than the total of all the people who were killed in all the wars for all the history of mankind on Earth.

    1,443,000,000 + Abortions

    (One billion, four hundred, forty-three million)

    January 2016

    (They are still occurring at the rate of 100,000 plus more every single day, 365 days a year, yes, every day)

    (Note: The number above represents surgical abortions only

    an estimated additional 250,000,000 abortions were chemically induced in that period)

    If you consider yourself part of the civilized world, ponder those numbers.

    Yes, folks that Planned Parenthood – they actually keep count of their achievements)

    Our lives are so busy, so many decisions, most trivial, and some monumental. The devious in our society distract us to focus on the trivial matters, so that they can influence the monumental. The Pro-life / Pro-abortion debate is such an example.

    Most have a robust, fixed opinion. But really, have we given the issue much thought? The argument is that this topic is not of importance. Evidently, it is a cogent argument, since it is not high on the list of problems facing the public. It is of importance – grave importance.

    This work is an attempt to give the subject the attention and significance that it deserves. Please take the time to read it. Then, decide if the subject is trivial or monumental. Don’t allow others to make the decision for you. You owe this to yourself and to the next generation, if there is one. Remember, your indecision is, in fact a decision.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    Here are few words of advice and caution before the book starts, about the scale of this issue and its impact. Bear with me. Since 1973 about 50 million abortions have taken place in the USA. Surveys show that an indeterminate number of women have received multiple abortions. About 50 million abortions probably represent 40 million distinct individuals who have had abortions.

    It seems highly unlikely that less than five others knew the client of the abortion and were directly or indirectly involved in some way with the torment of the event. That means that for every one abortion at least six people were involved - the woman herself, the husband, the boy friend, the parents, the grandparents, or her best friend(s), and so on. Maybe an average of five others is conservative.

    That represents a total of 240 million people (6 x 40 million). Assume half have died during the past forty-three years. That indicates that there are conservatively at least 100 million people alive today that have had some intimate contact with abortion -100 million – one third the population of the USA!

    Think of all the people you see every day. Count them by three’s. Every third one has been touched directly or indirectly by the tragedy of abortion – every third person. They are everywhere and everybody – the cashier at the store, the clerk, the policeman, the farmer, the bank teller, the minister, the secretary, the doctor, the teacher, your aunt, your cousin, your neighbor, possibly even your daughter (the parents may have no control over the decision in many states.) This monumental calamity has engulfed our nation.

    For some, this trauma wasn’t even a blip in their lives, a non-event, of no consequence - on to the next submission or conquest. For most, it was a haunting memory of the past, better forgotten. Sadly, for some it was a most deeply distressing experience opening a festering wound that never healed and unlikely to heal in the future.

    The reaction may be immediate or short term, or it may be delayed and provoked by an event or events. These memories may precipitate regret, second guessing, doubt, and anguish over the life that was never to be. Most times these feelings go untreated to torment forever. Few will even seek help for fear of discovery, ignominy, or embarrassment. Even if help is sought, unfortunately, the medical professions are sorely ineffective or incompetent to deal with the recovery from this injury – lie down on the couch for an hour, tell your sad story, pay your 150 bucks; see you next week, dear. Don’t trip on the sound machine on the way out, next client please.

    Unfortunately, the aftermath of abortion and its devastating effect on this huge portion of the population is made invisible and completely ignored by the purveyors of abortion, the industry of women’s health. Why would they be concerned? Does a car salesman warn you of the real possibility of death and carnage on the highway while he is selling you the car? Of course he doesn’t. His purpose is to sell you a car and get you out of there as quickly as possible before you change your mind. They are no different.

    The abortion provider has absolutely no incentive to talk a client out of purchasing their product. It is a profit-making business like car sales. Neither purveyor cares what happens when you leave their place of service. Apparently neither does anyone else care. You are instantly mutated from a trusted client to merely a line item on their balance sheet at the end of the year.

    You are on your own to live with your purchase. So many forms to sign, but none is a disclosure form warning you of the consequences of your actions. How sad. At least the car comes with a warranty, gives you a service, and when it is no longer useful, it can be sold for some financial gain. The abortion cannot be undone nor the memory discarded. Hopefully, the abortion lurks in the cobwebs of distant and ancient memories never to re-surface, but sometimes, possibly many times, it returns to the vivid memories of your yesterdays to haunt your tomorrows.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    This treatise is blunt, brutal, direct and to the point. It does not mince words. If you fear that it may revive memories better left in the past; then please, close the file, delete it, and choose another book to read. The book will not comfort you; and it certainly will not help you. It does not have the power to undo the undoable or to cure.

    Its purpose is not to torment the one third that has been personally involved in abortion, or to rekindle a circumstance that has been long forgotten and is best left in the past. That task must necessarily be left to another wordsmith or practitioner more educated, experienced, and talented than I.

    The book’s purpose is to awaken to its horrors, the two thirds not having been directly affected by abortion or its contemplation. The intent being to avoid the turmoil afflicting the other one third by showing that there is no reason to place themselves into this dilemma. Its motive is to show them that the disease is totally preventable by a mere change in behavior and adoption of a responsible living style.

    This is not brain surgery or an incurable disease that leaped out of the bushes in the night to spread its evil that takes hundreds of billions of dollars and decades of research to find a cure. The medical community does not need to assemble an army and mount a full frontal attack to solve the problem. The cure is simple, cost-free, and has been in front of us all along if we only have the wisdom to open our eyes and look.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The avoidance of abortion and many other ills of society can be achieved with the magic silver bullet of good and responsible behavior based on moral values.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    Who would have thought such a thing? Sometimes the best solutions to solve the most difficult problems are hiding in plain sight. A bifecta – pay for none and get two free. The solutions just have to be recognized, disseminated, and put into widespread and effective use. (No, I didn’t say inseminated, naughty mind)

    Just a change in behavior and all the pickets, signs, abortion clinics, advertisements, insincere and corrupt politicians, billboards, debates, arguments, harassment of clients, lobbyists, lies, deception, huge private and public expenditures, flyers, occasional murders and bombings, mutilated babies, fights over funding, and traumatized women, family and friends all just go away like a puff of smoke in the wind. Poof. This is true; don’t try to delude yourself and deny it.

    What a wonderful world it would be.

    As Frank Sinatra sings in Young at Heart,

    Now, here is the best part,

    good behavior doesn’t cost one thin dime.

    FORWARD

    CHOICE, IT’S A WOMAN’S BODY

    ONLY SHE CAN CONTROL WHAT SHE DOES WITH IT!!

    (This myopic declaration is usually shortened to the single word of Choice for efficiency of language and drama. The word choice also fits on a sign and a television screen so perfectly and makes a swell sound bite)

    Choice, the word has a certain ring to it and a great deal of logic behind it. Every one wants choices. After all, they form the foundation of a free society. Who could be against that? Bold capitals and exclamation marks accurately define the concept since it is always shouted in defiance as an unassailable axiom – a battle cry, a call to arms, a bellicose assertion, not to be challenged.

    The word and the statement are not meant to invite debate, or even understanding, but rather to evoke anger and defiance, influence by power, coercion and intimidation, all concepts that are foreign to our national persona – no room for even a comment much less a discussion. Discussion, what is that? This is a settled issue presented for mass consumption, acceptance, and compliance. Any dissenting voice must be identified, mocked, humiliated, and silenced.

    It is a don’t you even think about it declaration. At least it is quite a mature and constructive approach for an assemblage that was carrying Peace and Love signs not so long ago. This is actually not so surprising since even within that benign message of Peace and love was implied, Join the peace and love movement or we will destroy you. It is an arrogant and unfortunate attitude to comport for a matter that is arguably the greatest conflict and morality play of all time – abortion – the word that is conveniently omitted.

    Is there similar behavior on the other side of the argument? Yes, of course. Harassment outside clinics, that’s not right. A woman in crisis has enough traumas before, during, and after the abortion. But, remember the pro-life advocates do not control the power and the public presentation; they are portrayed as radicals and the embodiment of the so called War on Women. After all, in their reverence and piety the pro-lifers do secretly conceal their hope for women to suffer and die, don’t they? That’s curious; at least a few pro-lifers are women, aren’t they? Hmm.

    Addressing control over our bodies,- in reality someone is telling us what to do with our bodies all of our lives and even endangering our personal welfare in many cases – men and women: our bosses, our vocation, governments through military service and even indenture, legally and illegally. You can pay off your outrageous and contrived student loan earlier if you work your butt for the government. Coercion with regard to a medical procedure of course is different, nonetheless.

    Certainly, men would not want anyone to tell them what to do with their bodies with regard to a serious medical procedure. But wait, hold on. Nobody is suggesting that a woman be coerced to do anything. They are just suggesting that she not do something horrible in the name of humanity. Don’t kill your baby. What an unreasonable request that has become.

    The suggestion, actually the plea, is that she, please, just completes what she started.

    Hold on to that precious little baby just a while longer. Then give it to two of the dear multitudes who eagerly await to love it as if she were their own.

    The act would be an entry into mature and responsible adulthood emerging from a past life that had a woeful deficiency of both. Sorry, that is so unkind, but, nevertheless a frighteningly accurate description of the circumstance.

    Giving birth to the child would be a thoughtful and accountable action providing a second chance for her baby and her bringing joy to a desperate couple that was denied the privilege that she was granted but chose to obtusely discard.

    Any clear thinking and unbiased person would have to admit that the truth is a woman’s body is not a man’s body. Actually I may be in error. In this climate of upside-down logic even that dictum may be challenged. Today, the truth is a personal thing. It is different for each of us. It is whatever you feel it to be. Why, Playboy magazine just announced that it will no longer use images of naked women anywhere in its publication. Is nothing sacred anymore? What is the world coming to?

    But in fact, a female body is different and special, very special. It is gloriously designed and fashioned to create, grow, nurture, and care for the next generation of humans. The male body doesn’t even come close. Her body is designed at the very moment of conception in her own mother’s womb armed with all the millions of unique traits and characteristics that will allow her to perfectly fulfill her special role in life.

    I am sure many will argue this point, but her thinking is also customized and created specifically to insure the perpetuation of that next generation. Her brain is wired to foster the nurturing of her progeny in a manner that a man could never achieve. That is why the abortion phenomenon is so contrary to the instincts of a mother and so unfathomable to contemplate.

    Have we gotten so self-indulged that we have lost the ability to think clearly about our actions and their consequences? How have we gotten here? That will, most likely be the question of the ages for ethicists and historians of the future.

    A lifetime of pondering this question has been met with limited success. I have not been alone in that quest. But, now, in the twilight of my life, someone has answered that question succinctly and concisely in less time that it takes to watch the evening news.

    William Lindt of the Free Congress Foundation has exposed the answer. In a twenty-minute presentation, he tells the frightening story how the thinking of a handful of men, yes men, starting 150 years ago got us here, if you dare inquire. The link is as follows. Technology can be used, occasionally for the advancement of the human condition, if we only have the courage to use it. It will explain how we got
