Five Years Earlier

Jessamyn Daniels dragged a ragged breath into her lungs and chuckled. She stretched her body and groaned as muscles, pushed past their comfort zone, protested. Wow. You really know how to tire a girl.

Dillon Grant chuckled back, his own breathing uneven. He was lying on his back, his left arm slung across his eyes, his right pinned beneath Jessamyn’s head. Sweat glistened on heated skin.

You kind of wore me out as well, sweetheart, he said, then uncovered his eyes and turned his head to grin at her.

She snuggled against him and placed her hand on his torso, taking a moment to admire how the deep brown of her skin contrasted against the tanned white of his. Will it always be this amazing, Dillon?

What do you mean? Dillon reached over and smoothed an errant lock of hair
