It was something she’d been dreaming about for a long, long time...

She had always wanted to meet a spaceman. She'd dreamt about it since she was very young, looking up into the night sky. Now nearing forty years of age, she was looking up into the night sky again, hoping for some kind of contact from beyond the stars. And this time she would not be left wanting.

She'd seen a UFO once, many years ago. She and a bunch of her friends were camping up in the mountains and drinking, laughing, and talking late into the night, as people in their twenties like to do. Miriam had wandered away from the campfire to use the outhouse, when a bright flash of light in the sky caught her eye. At first she thought it was a shooting star or a comet.

She stumbled through the woods to get a better look and saw a silver craft streaking through the full moon sky. It was a classic saucer-shaped UFO, just like she'd seen in countless movies and TV shows. She followed its movement as the moonlight sparkled off its smooth hull, but it simply circled around above her, slowing briefly, flashing a yellow light from its underside a few times, then it shot away at an incredible speed. Wow! was all she could say, her mouth hanging open.

Now, twenty years later, she found herself wishing she could finally meet a studly spaceman, and he could take her away to a better place. Why not? What did she have to lose? Nothing! All the men on Earth had been turning out to be duds.
