Hello, thank you for wanting to know more about me and my work. My name is Ann Crystal and I am a self-published writer, poet, and crafter who lives in the City of Angels (Los Angeles, California). From the time I could pick up a writing instrument I was writing...technically...since only my childhood mind could understand what it was that I was putting to paper. I am sure that those early stories amused me and that they were filled with the things of fairy tales.Today, I have a mind cluttered with characters and their stories that are eager to be written about and drawn. Many of my works are centered on the genres of fantasy and supernatural, and you will find elements of environmental awareness and sometimes religious highlights from my Catholic upbringing.I am a fourth-generation Californian, with a maternal lineage from the Tohono O'odham and Yaqui Natives of Arizona.I wish to thank (thank you, thank you, thank you) my readers and my reviewers. Some sites do not allow for writers to communicate with their reviewers, and there may be reviewers of my work who I have not had the privileged to read about. Thank you.

    Disclaimer

My name is Ann Crystal. I like to consider myself a writer of poetry and fictional stories. Yet, there are those few true-life events that I will one day pen onto paper (or type into digital text) because it affected my life in such a huge way.

This is one of those events.

This book covers my family’s experiences with some of the real estate professionals and some of the investors who we have dealt with.

You will read about contracts, my mother’s and I watching of our local housing market, and about everything that this rollercoaster ride of trying to sell my parents home has brought upon my family.

This book is based on what I’ve come to comprehend about some real estate professionals, some investors, and some who are involved in my parents local housing market.

These conclusions are based on personal experiences, and I suggest and hope that someone among my readers will research this subject further, or perhaps have the resources to professionally investigate into this matter that could be happening to other homeowners/homebuyers.

Please note that while I am not implying that all real estate professionals and/or investors are involved, all readers are advised to read and/or (if needed) to seek professional assistance to read and understand contracts, terms and conditions, privacy policies, and any other forms of agreements before agreeing to do or conducting business with any party.

One of the reasons my mother and I originally created our blogs was in hopes to help other homeowners who may not realize that there could be schemes out there to swindle their homes away from them.

Now I have created this book for the same reason.

I hope that you find this book and my blogs informative. Welcome to my book, I shall try to keep the contents polite…try LOL

    Thank you for reading.

    Terminology

Please note, the descriptions below are based on my personal understandings of the research I have done. Please do double check the descriptions for your own clarification if you feel it is necessary. This list of terms are by no means complete.

    **********

    FSBO

FSBO stand for, For Sale By Owner. Homeowners who list their properties for sale without a realtor use the term FSBO.

I really think it should be HFSBO, to stand for, House For Sale By Owner. I guess that’s just me over thinking things a bit.

Many realtors do not consider a house listed, FSBO as being on the market.

    Average Buyer/Homeowner

This term is not meant as an insult. I am using the word average to cover the ordinary, everyday person or family who is looking for or owns a property, which is for his/her/their own personal drawling.

    Realtor VS Real Estate Agent

In this book, I have used the titles of realtor and real estate agents interchangeably. In our experience, most of the realtors and real estate agents acted equally in the same (terrible) way.

    MLS

The MLS stands for, Multiple Listing Service. The MLS is a database that lists properties that are up for sale. The MLS can only be accessed by realtors and real estate agents.

    Investor/Flipper

A person, couple, group, or company who buys property or properties for investment purposes and not for personal drawling.

    How This All Began:

My mother and father, Pat and Izzy are homeowners who are trying to sell their house in the Los Angeles, CA area.

For about a year now, my mother and I have written two blogs together to document Pat and Izzy’s experiences as my parent’s try to sell their house.

One of the reasons that my mom and I started blogging about this journey was because of a real estate scam that we believed to have encountered.

My mom and I wanted to let people know about this possible scam,
