About this ebook

The story is set mainly in the Ardennes area of France during 1944. Two French children endure the nightmare of war when their parents are torn from them in a most horrific way. At the same time two soldiers, one British and the other American, escape from their prisoner of war camp in western Germany. They become friends and together resolve to make an extremely dangerous journey from Germany, through Luxembourg and into occupied France with the aim of getting back to their own lines. However, the two French children, left alone and frightened by their horrendous experience, accidentally come into the lives of the soldiers’ dramatically changing the plan that they had agreed.
Although set in the period of the Second World War it is not primarily a war story but an adventure set around an amazing and dangerous journey to help the children find the only family they have left. It is a story of love, friendship, courage and determination.
