    Chapter 1

Willow Mason owned The Stomp and Grind Bar for the last ten years now. The bar life was a hard scene for a single woman of 30. Willow had managed to keep the bar running smoothly with her hot temper and red curly hair.

Willow took no shit from nobody, male or female. She had taken self-defense and kick boxing classes to give herself confidence. She had taken quite a few men out of her bar for misbehaving. Her red hair and temper scared the men most.

Willow had bought The Stomp and Grind Bar from billionaire Ralph Franken. She had come to Frankenlust at the age of 20 looking for a job. Ralph started her off as a waitress. She then quickly moved to a bartender.

Ralph told her, she needed to learn to stand up for herself and take no prisoners. Once she learned to have confidence, he moved her up to manager. Ralph told her he was proud she found the temper to go with her red curly hair. Two years later she bought The Stomp and Grind from him at the age of 22.

Willow did have some struggles being a young single woman bar owner. Most of the people she hired were older than her. When they found out her age, they had a tendency to talk to her like a child or if she was stupid.

After owning the bar for six months, Willow thought she made the biggest mistake of her life. She went to talk to Ralph Franken about taking the bar back. He refused to take it back. He explained to Willow why he was a billionaire. He was respected and hated in the business world. He didn’t get where he was at by playing nicely and making friends. There was a difference between true friends and business friends.

True friends were people you have known for a long time and trust. You do things with them. Business friends or employees were not friends but people who used you when they want or need something from you, when you don’t give in or provide them with what they want or need they will leave without looking back. Ralph told her to never ever become friends with her employees or they would lose respect for her. She should never cross that line and get personal with them.

From that day on after talking to Ralph Franken and telling him her true story, Willow grew a back bone. Ralph provided her with the tools of how to be a business owner. He would take her story to the grave with him of how she ended up in Frankenlust.

Willow was having a bad day at the bar. She had come to work this morning to check on the liquor inventory and found a flood in the kitchen.

Son of a bitch! She yelled wading through the water to the sink. She squatted down and found the pipe under the sink was broke.

Fuck Me, she yelled and found the water main, shutting it off. She then squatted back down to have a closer look at the broken pipe. The pipe was really rusted out and not fixable. She knew she would have to call a plumber in to fix the pipe. It needed to be done today or she would have to close the kitchen down.

Willow waded through the water out of kitchen to find a phone book to find a plumber. She started at the top and started calling by the fifth plumber, she found one that would be there in 20 minutes.

After hanging up the phone, she went to find the bucket and mop so she could take care of the water on the floor. Willow hauled the bucket and mop out to the kitchen. She opened the back door and started pushing the water out the door with the mop. Once she got most of the water out the door, she had to mop the rest of it up.

Willow just finished up when the plumber arrived. The plumber looked at the pipe and got what he needed, got to work on it. Willow left him in the kitchen; she needed to check her liquor inventory.

She was in the backroom doing a liquor order when Jacob came into work. He walked into the office to hang up his coat.

    Hey, sweets.

    Good afternoon, Jacob.

What’s a plumber doing here? I saw the truck outside.

The pipe under the sink broke and flooded the kitchen.

Shit was there a lot of water?

Yeah, I pushed it all out the back door and mopped the rest up.

    Damn that sucked.

Hopefully nothing else will go wrong today.

Jacob heard the door open up. He left the office to wait on a customer. Willow continued to do her liquor order. After she was done she had to call it in. She was in the middle of it when Jacob popped his head in her office.

Willow could tell from the look on his face he was anxious and nervous to tell her something. She looked directly at him trying to figure out what he was telling her with his eyes and mouth. Jacob was rolling his eyes, tilting his head to the left and mouthing something she couldn’t make out. He then started pointing his finger to the left. Finally frustrated trying to figure out what he wanted Willow hung up the phone without finishing her order.

Jacob, what in the hell is going on?

A heavy set woman about 50 years old with mousy gray short hair appeared in the office doorway. The woman had a grim look on her face with dull blue eyes.

Are you the owner of this bar?

    Um…yes, who are you?

I am Marie from the Health Department, here to do your annual inspection.

Willow groaned and shook her head in disbelief. The day was going to get worse. Her five year mark was up to get the kitchen and cooler remodeled to their new standards. She knew what was going to happen, get it done or be close down and fined.

My name is Willow, nice to meet you.

Willow, I have read all the reports from prier inspections. Has the work been done yet in the kitchen and cooler?

    No.

Why has it not been done?

I am not sure what contactor to use for commercial remodeling.

I have a list here of licensed contractors that do commercial work.

Marie handed the list to Willow. Willow looked at the list. There were about twenty contractors on the list.

Willow, you have six weeks from now to get the work done. If you do not have the work done or started in six week, we will give you a fine of 6,000.00. After the fine you have another six weeks to get it started or done. If you fail to get it done, then we will close your business down until it is completed. Do you understand the terms I just explained?

    Yes, I understand.

Good, I will be back in six weeks to check on the progress. Have a great day.

Marie walked out of Willow’s office. Willow growled out throwing the paperwork on her desk. She flopped down in the office chair and put her head into her hands.

    Fuck and double fuck.

    Willow, are you ok?

Yes, Jacob, just a little pissed off right now.

I am sorry; I was trying to warn you.

Yeah, well it didn’t matter. She would have done her job anyway whether I was here or not.

    "That is true.

Jacob left the door to the office. Willow rubbed her aching temples with her fingertips. God, she hated to spend the money she worked so hard on saving. Unfortunately this remodeling business couldn’t be put off any longer. She had to get it done or be fined or shut down neither of which she could afford to do.

Willow picked up the contractor list and looked at it. She scanned over the names and giggled at the last name on the list. Smith and Wesson LLC Contracting Company. She thought they had to be straight shooters since they had the same name as a gun. She laughed at her own joke. She decided to call them first.

Willow talked to the office woman and explained what she needed. The office woman made the appointment for the owners to be there tomorrow at 10:00am. Willow hung up the phone feeling a little relieved she made the effort to get the job done. She just hoped it wouldn’t wipe out all her savings account and would leave enough for her to take a small vacation.

    Chapter 2

Dillon Smith and Drake Wesson were the owners of Smith & Wesson LLC Contracting Company. They had been best friends since high school. They even went to college together to get their building license.

Once they graduated from college they opened their own business. They worked great together and built up the business to one of the busiest contracting companies in the Tri City area. They also built a huge house together and were living together. They had enough work coming in to stay busy for the next five years.

Dillon had to go into the office today to get some much needed paperwork done. Drake absolutely hated paperwork and left it all for Dillon to do. Drake was the hands on man with all the jobs. He was out on the jobs more than in the office. Dillon was the one who kept the paperwork, licensing and contacts in order. Drake kept the building jobs running smoothly. Dillon walked into the office. He smiled at Cathy their secretary and leaned his hip against her desk.

    Good morning, Cathy.

    Good morning, Dillon.

Can you bring up my schedule for today and tomorrow?

    Sure thing.

Cathy brought up his schedule and then printed it out for him. She reached over and grabbed the print out and handed it to him. Dillon looked over the schedule. He noticed a new name on the list.

When did you add The Stomp and Grind Bar on here?

Um…just this morning, Willow Mason the owner called in an urgent hurry. The Health Department is breathing down her neck to get repairs done or they will fine her or close the bar down.

Well how is that our problem? The Health Department doesn’t just walk in and start demanding remodeling to be done as soon as possible. They give a certain amount of time to have them done.

All’s I know is she was all fired up and wanted us to come out to give her estimate and needed someone to be able to start right away.

Well I am not sure we will be able to fit the bar in our schedule. I might have to call her back and recommend someone else.

So did you want me to decline new clients?

Dillon looked over at Cathy with a frown and shook his head not her.

Drake and I will decide if we take on new client. You just keep taking names and numbers but don’t schedule estimates. I will call them if we are interested in the work.

I am sorry, I should have checked with you first before scheduling The Stomp and Grind.

You are fine; I will keep the appointment and meet with her. I’ll just have to refer her to someone else.

Dillon turned on his heel and headed into his office. He looked at all the paperwork, gave a loud sigh. He was going to be really busy. H was probably going to have to take work home tonight. He was glad it was Drake’s night to cook.

Drake was at the construction site on a new house making sure his crew was setting up the exterior walls up perfect. The construction company was building a million plus house for a new doctor. Drake knew they would make a hell of great profit on this 7,000 square foot house. His crew was making great time and they were still right on schedule.

Drake loved this part of the job. He hated to do the paperwork. He left most of it for his partner Dillon to do. Dillon would grumble but do it anyway.

The crew just finished up the last exterior wall when they decided it was lunch time. The house they were building was just outside of Frankenlust Township.

Hey Drake, a couple of us are going into Frankenlust for a burger would you like to join us? Rob asked one of his crew leaders.

Sure that sounds like a great idea.

Have you ever been in Frankenlust before?

    No, I believe I haven’t.

Man, you are in for a treat then.

    Why’s that?

Seriously, you don’t know about Frankenlust, a single guy like you?

    Um…no I haven’t.

Holy shit, the town is filled with women.

So, every town has women in it.

Drake, Frankenlust has more women than in it than any town around. The town is run by a woman named Kitty Franken. The businesses are owned by women.

Bullshit Rob, you are just pulling my leg.

No Drake, I am serious as can be.

Drake looked at Rob like he was crazy. He shook his head in disbelief.

Seriously, you are full of shit.

    Really Drake, I am serious.

Drake study Rob’s serious expression. Rob was nodding his head.

Ok, I will take the bait,

We are going to go to The Stomp and Grind Bar to eat burgers.

    Ok, let’s go.

Drake and Rob walked over to their trucks. Carl and Peter jumped into Rob’s truck in the backseat. Drake jumped up in the front seat while Rob climbed in the driver’s seat.

Hey Carl and Pete, Drake doesn’t believe me about Frankenlust being populated mostly by women.

Drake, he is telling the true. Shit, it even has a gentlewomen’s club called The Masters of Men. I have been there a few times with Betty. It is fucking great. Pete said from the backseat.

A gentlewomen’s club what the hell is that? Drake asked turning around in the front seat to look at Pete.

Hell, it is like a gentlemen’s club. They have strippers, card night, lingerie night, a bar, dancing and demonstrations for the women.

You guys are full of shit.

No Drake, we are telling you the truth. Frankenlust is great little town, Pete replied seriously.

Rob pulled in the parking lot of The Stump and Grind Bar. They all jumped out of Rob’s truck and headed inside the bar. There were about twelve women and two men inside the bar.

Behind the bar was a tall slim man and bleached blonde woman with healthy curvy body. Pete, Carl, Rob and Drake sat down at a table. Drake glanced around the bar with curiously. It looked like any other bar he had been in.

Neon lights with beer names hanging all over the walls. Formica tables with steel padded chairs all around the bar. High stools lined up the length of the bar. He did notice the pictures on the walls were all pin up girls from the 50 and 60’s. They were pretty cool looking pictures.

The bleached haired blonde came strolling over the table with nice swing to her hips. Her blonde hair was shoulder length and waved around her face like a halo. Her body was voluptuous and not skinny. She had large breasts with curvy hips. She stood about 5’4 on shapely legs. Her face was round with big chocolate colored eyes, perky nose and pout y red lips. She was wearing a red low cut camisole that showed
