Chapter One

Steven leaned in toward Brenda and kissed her on the lips as soon as the door closed behind them.

Why did you do that? Brenda asked, surprised but not alarmed, as Steven pulled back quickly.

He regarded her nervously. I don’t know. I took a chance it’s what you wanted me to do.

Brenda looked away doubtfully. Steven Travis, you’ve never taken a chance in all the years I’ve known you.

Steven shrugged and smiled sheepishly. Well, there’s always a first time.

Brenda pursed her lips. I’m serious. I want to know. They were standing across from one another at the closed door.

Want to know what? Steven thought he had already told her. He didn’t know what else to say on the subject.

I want to know how you knew I wanted you to kiss me the moment the door closed behind us.

Steven let out a pent-up breath. Well, if you want to know what I was thinking at that very second, I can tell you honestly I have no idea. I have to tell you, I don’t think I’d ever have the nerve to do something like that again. Especially to someone who technically is my boss.

Technically? Brenda repeated. Her air was slightly haughty "Your boss reports to his boss who reports to me. Technically, I own your insignificant little butt."

Steven felt all the color drain from his face.

Brenda saw Steven’s ashen hue and laughed out loud. "Take it easy, okay? I’m only teasing. Didn’t I tell you already I wanted you to kiss me?"

Steven hung his head slightly. I knew that didn’t sound like you.

Brenda turned and tossed her pocketbook onto the hotel room’s desk next to her. Keeping her expression blank, she turned back to Steven.

I trust that is not the only kiss I’m going to get, now that you know I wanted the first one, right? Business relationships aside, we have four hours to kill in this room before we have to get back to the gate. I admit I took it figuratively only, that you were expecting to use the flight delay to actually sleep. Brenda slipped off her business jacket, folded it over the chair at the desk and turned back to face Steven directly and expectantly.

Steven slipped off his suit coat, hung it over the same desk chair and loosened his tie. Truthfully, I was expecting we would actually be taking a nap, given how both of us hardly got any sleep last night after the party broke up. I will say I fantasized it might become more.

Steven approached Brenda again and slipped his arms tentatively around her shoulders. I’m not used to having my fantasies come true, though.

Well, Mr. Travis, Brenda said, slipping her arms around Steven’s neck. I am used to having my fantasies come true, and this has been one of my favorites.

Brenda drew Steven toward her, opened her mouth and filled Steven’s with her tongue.

Startled at first by Brenda’s aggressiveness, Steven quickly caught himself and began to answer Brenda’s hunger with his own. He gripped Brenda tightly and drove his tongue as deeply into her mouth as he could.

Brenda relaxed her tongue and let Steven take over, letting him own her mouth. Then she responded, fisting her hands into his shoulder blades while swirling her tongue around Steven’s, enveloping it and taking back control of the exquisite chaos she felt in her mouth.
