About this ebook
I wasn't thrilled when my mother told me she was getting married again. It wasn't until I met Future Husband #5 that I also met his son. Riley got my attention, that's for sure. Is it a mistake that we're going out? Or are we on our way to forever? Me and Mr. Jones is a sweet, contemporary romance short story: 7,100 words.

Me and Mr. Jones is a sweet, contemporary romance short story: 7,100 words.
Sweetie, guess what? I’ve met the man I want to spend the rest of my life with!
Mom enthused over the phone.
Here we go again, I thought. Out loud I said, That’s great, Mom. Really great.
Okay, so that sounded a little weak, but I couldn’t match my mother’s enthusiasm. Pinching the bridge of my nose kind of hurt. It was also not helping the migraine that was threatening to bloom.
She hated me being the voice of reason, but, seriously. Hey, Mom, have you really thought this through? I mean, when did you meet this guy?
Of course, I have, silly. I met him in my yoga class a couple of months ago. He’s so flexible, if you know what I mean!
I regretted that I did. My mother was notorious for over sharing in the past. Ew.
I wanted my mother to be happy. Truly, I did. However, Mom had a tendency to rush into things without thinking them all the way through. I attempted to extricate her from many scrapes over the years, but she still pursued them with a hedonistic vengeance. Her favorite? Men.
