About this ebook
Charles Stross doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. Even as the CEO of VisionAire, he gets out on the construction sites of his expanding airline. And because of his work habits, he gets opportunities rare for an executive of his caliber, finding time to remember that caring is the one essential that an employer must possess. The same quality is an essential ingredient for a lover…
Another short story episode from the AeroRomance Series.
Dear Reader,
I’m Telma Cortez, Head Flight Attendant for VisionAire. I love flying and I adore many of the people I work with. It’s an unusual place to work, it can leave you beaten and exhausted, working up there at altitude takes it out of you, but it has its rewards. And those are the moments I want to share with you.
I’ve seen it all; overnight love affairs with room keys exchanged and silent smiles at the breakfast buffet. Long term colleagues becoming long term lovers, short term lovers becoming long term colleagues with all the angst that can bring.
This can be a high speed job and we work hard but play hard. Romance is never too far away and is often stratospheric for the crew of VisionAire not just because our airline is unique, but because aviation is a close knit world where the kinship you feel with your fellow aviators can be life changing. Entrusted with a fifty million dollar plane, you and the rest of the crew take it far across the globe and if you are lucky, you deplane somewhere nice, knowing you have a job well done and proud of it. And the best part is, you did it together.
Its this bonding that often leads to the intimate moments we enjoy. So come with me and the rest of your crew on our AeroRomance adventures.
I am working on much more than just a few short stories, so just when you think you know our crew you will see a side to them you never imagined. I have official music for the series now too from Krafted Riddim Records. An ultra cool lover’s rock/reggae band who performed at the Brit Awards this year. Their music is free to download too on soundcloud.
We are working on a full length book, and something big and exciting coming this way in LA in the new year."
So join me on our stratospheric stage on the Theatre In The Sky.
I hope you enjoy AeroRomance.

Hello again! It’s me, Telma Cortez, Chief Flight Attendant for VisionAire, and self-professed Aerosexual. VisionAire is a big company, but its employees are a tightly knit family. We all got here by different means; some transferred from other airlines with many of us invited by our owner, Charles Stross. One of my very closest friends is a flight attendant who came to us from a very different background, one that gave her a very meager existence and offered her no hope for a future. Stacy, my friend and confidante, has one overwhelming attribute over and above her beauty...she cares. The tiny woman has a heart as big as the Gulf of Mexico, and that is what makes her one of the finest flight attendants I have ever known.
I always wondered how she came to us. I knew from her personnel records the struggle she’d gone through to finish her education and get her training. I knew she’ d gotten her G.E.D. at age twenty, and then gone on for her formal training, but there was little in the records to explain how she managed to make the transition from waitress in a twenty-four-hour coffee and breakfast restaurant on the outskirts of Panama City, Florida to trusted flight attendant at VisionAire.
We shared a room, by choice of course. Charles always has individual suites reserved for aircrews wherever we have a layover. It’s one of the perks for working for a man determined to provide the very best for his employees. He believes that if you go the extra mile for your employees, they will work harder for you. As a result, VisionAire has the highest customer service rating of any airline in the business.
Anyway, back to my tale. We were very tired from a terribly long flight from Australia and we had decided to stay in our suite with a couple of bottles of
