About this ebook

We live in a time of "cheap grace" with many Christians, having once received salvation for their sins, continuing in the "practice" and lifestyle of sin. Living their lives in disobedience to the Law of God written on their hearts, they have besmeared God's holiness. Carnality and worldliness have crept into our churches, and often we cannot find a distinction between the things of sin and the things of God because the two have mixed in an unholy adulterous relationship. What has happened to holiness?

This book explores the fate of holiness. Pamela Telgenhoff plunges the reader into Biblical narratives and contemporary stories that demand an answer to the above question. This book is a call to action, a call to return to God's commandments and live a Holy life before Him. This is a call to stop playing church and religion. This is a call to enter into a deep relationship with the Almighty Creator of everything through His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. The Fate of Holiness is a beautiful tapestry of exhortation to the body of Christ to respond to the cry of God’s heart to hear the call of the Shofar and to return to the path of righteousness and Holy living.

Pamela Telgenhoff

Pamela A. Telgenhoff found her voice at an early age. Pamela loves music, and has been involved in music ministry most of her life. She began playing piano and singing at her church when she was young at the prompting of her pastor. When she was fifteen she, her brother, and her cousin formed a trio called The Reflections. They toured all over Southern California as well as conducting a coast-to-coast tour in 1976. They appeared regularly on Trinity Broadcasting Network, as well as other Christian television programs. The Reflections recorded two LP albums, the second one containing some of Pamela's original songs. In the early 1980's, she recorded a solo album containing all original songs composed by her. Pamela earned both her Bachelor and Master Degrees from California State University Northridge. Earning a Master of Music in Vocal Performance opened up numerous opportunities for her. Throughout her career, Pamela taught music in schools, and held several Minister of Music positions in various churches. She completed a Biblical Studies program from the Berean School of the Bible of the Assemblies of God, thus obtaining credentials in Specialized Ministries. Pamela used her education and experience in music and vocal performance to obtain a professorship at Victor Valley College in California where she taught students for many years. Being a creative person it was natural for her to funnel some of her resourcefulness into photography. Along with her husband of 38 years, Lyle Telgenhoff, they started the business of Telgenhoff Photographers where they currently engage in professional wedding and portrait photography around the Southern California area. Pamela is both a published and an award-winning photographer. Her passion for music and photography speak to the amazing gifting she has as an artist. Her deepest passion is for ministry, and over the years, her ministry has taken multiple forms. Additionally, she has a deep passion for the Word of God, and that passion has poured out in the form of powerful lyrics in her original songs and music. Everything Pamela does, she does with a deep conviction toward beauty and excellence. It is that deep passion and conviction along with a prompting in the Spirit that birthed the lines and paragraphs of this book. With Pamela, one thing has always been true; when her heart is full, she writes! "The Fate of Holiness" is her first published book, and Pamela has proven that her inventiveness in music and photography can be expressed in beautiful writing as well. Inspired and driven to relate a needed message of hope to others, just as she did years ago as a singer and songwriter, Pamela's writing will be a blessing to everyone who reads and heeds her words. She currently lives in Hemet, California with her husband Lyle. They have two beautiful daughters and six wonderful grandchildren who are their pride and joy!

The Fate of Holiness is a beautiful tapestry of exhortation to the body of Christ to respond to the cry of God’s heart to hear the call of the Shofar and to return to the path of righteousness and Holy living.

The message of exhortation and warning to the church to wake up is balanced with truth and love. The author has a unique and gifted writing style that ushers in the reader to engage in her story telling. The Biblical stories, as well as, her personal stories come to life. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is woven into each chapter revealing a Biblical truth that unveils the heart of God. The Fate of Holiness is beautiful and captivating, and if read with an open mind, the reader will be drawn to the heart of God.

Although the reader will find this book beautifully written with the words and content easily flowing with pregnant meaning, do not think that it is entertainment. It is not written for your entertainment, but for your righteousness. An entertainer demands no response from their audience, however this book does demand a response.

Ezekiel 33:31-33 reads, My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them into practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. When all this comes true (God's judgment)-and it surely will-then they will know that a prophet has been among them. Do not be like the people in Ezekiel's day, but be doers of God's Word and not just hearers.

    Chapter 1: The Shofar's Call

The cry rings out, an ominous wailing sound that cuts to the very soul…the sound of an instrument of sorts, but without distinct pitch or timber. It stirs the soul and the memory of the moment is forever etched into the corners of your heart and in your mind. The sound filters into your subconscious and calls to you in the midnight hours. This is the call of the Shofar.

Nothing more than a ram's horn, the Shofar is sounded even today. In Jewish tradition, it was used to call to the Children of Israel, calling
