About this ebook

Set in the medieval town of Shrewsbury, this is the third in the compelling 'Martha Gunn' series - When a woman arrives in A and E clutching a child in a pink blanket, Martha Gunn is not quite ready to make the discovery that the evening has in store for her. The baby is dead, and not only that, it has been mummified. Post mortem reveals the child to be a new born, deceased for over five years and, despite the mysterious woman's protestations that it is called 'poppy', most certainly a boy. As always coroner Martha Gunn reserves judgement until she is able to get to the bottom of the case.

Frozen Charotte: a Martha Gunn Mystery. Priscilla Masters. 2011. Martha is a coroner in Shrewberry, England. She is a widow with an young adult son and a teenage daughter. She is called out one night to examine the remains of a baby. An Alice Sedgewich showed up at the emergency room with the remains wrapped in a blanket. She said she found the baby in the attic near the hot water heater, It is up to Martha to help the police identify the remains and find out what happened to it. This the first of a series. and we meet Martha’s family, the police officers including an inspector who will probably become Martha’s love interest eventually. Mildly interesting.
