This book contains three Indian war stories which are only three of the many bloody conflicts between the Plains Indians and the Pony Soldiers (U. S. troops). The Indian tribes made a gallant, all-out effort to drive the white-eyes (settlers) from their lands, but the fight was doomed from the beginning. Nevertheless, the Indians were determined to put up one hell of a fight, and they did, many to the bitter, heartbreaking death. A few of the tribes were quick to realize their cause was lost. The settlers appeared like leaves of trees. There was no end to them. For every white man the Indian killed, ten more took his place. After overwhelming defeat, the Indians refused to lay down their weapons and quit. They were a proud, honorable, and religious people who would always remember their heritage.
