About this ebook

Robert the Doll got it's inspiration from a "true" haunted experience. This fictional supernatural tale will scare you, especially if you read it before retiring for the night.

Robert the Doll is a doll that had a spell cast on it by a mysterious woman who dealt in Black Magic and Voodoo. It looks evil and it's looks don't lie. A child is given the doll as a departing gift and names it after himself. He becomes very attached to it, much to the dismay of his abusive father.

The child's mother is not certain what she can do or what she should do.

Will the doll harm her or her son?

This story will keep you on edge.

I write books for middle grade and young adults. They range from scary to spun fairy tales and more.  Most of the stories, including the scary ones, are basically fantasy tales. YOu need to have an open mind when you read them. :-) That's one of the reasons I enjoy writing for the younger audience. I really think it's also why many adults are reading these types of books. To escape reality.

Robert the Doll - B.D. Knight

    Robert the Doll

Tibula! I can’t believe you’re practicing black magic at my home. Why would you do this?

But ma’am, I mean no harm, said Tibula. This is like a religion to me. I promise I won’t do it anymore at your home.

Kathy had been warned by her neighbors that Tibula was into black magic and voodoo but never really believed it. Robert loved Tibula. Maybe that was why she ignored the warnings until now, when she saw it for herself.

I’m not doing anything evil, ma’am, said Tibula. I’m trying to work a spell to cure pains I’ve been having in my knees.

I’m sorry, Tibula. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about black magic. I’m sure you meant no harm but I can’t take the chance Robert will see you practicing it.

Oh no, ma’am, said Tibula. I never do anything like that around Robert. No ma’am. I don’t want to influence his young mind.

I just can’t have you working here anymore, she said. I know you and Robert are close so I’ll allow you to say goodbye to him. If Mr. Harper knew about this, he’d be furious and you wouldn’t get that chance."

She knew Tibula hated her husband. Now there’s a big surprise. It seems like everyone hated him. He treated everyone like dirt but Tibula seemed to tolerate it because she adored Robert.

    Yes, ma’am.

Tibula hung her head and Kathy felt sorry for her. She almost changed her mind but decided this was for the best.

Thank you, ma’am. I have a gift for Robert I’d like to give him. He has wanted me to make a doll for him so, if you don’t mind, I’ll give that to him as a going away present.

A doll from someone practicing black magic didn’t seem like the best idea to Kathy but she knew Tibula would never hurt Robert.

That’s fine. I’m sorry, Tibula. You’ve been a terrific housekeeper and have always treated Robert well. I’ll be happy to give you a good reference if you need one.

I’ll go get it, ma’am and bring it to him when I say my goodbyes.

There was something about the look Tibula gave her that made her feel uncomfortable.

    I’m just being silly.

Tibula always liked Mrs. Lantham and adored Robert. She hated Mr. Lantham with a passion.

She carried a fear that Mr. Lantham would harm Robert someday and she made a doll to give him for protection. Of course she knew she couldn’t tell Robert or his mom what the doll was for.
