About this ebook

Everyone has felt stuck at some point in life. Our inertia is gone, momentum is wiped out, and life trudges on devoid of passion. But God has so much more than this planned for his daughters. With passion and enthusiasm, Pat Layton invites women to imagine their world unstuck--a place where they feel at peace with the past, find purpose in the present, and revel in the possibilities that the future holds. With her rousing Unstuck Manifesto, she delves deep into the areas readers get stuck in the most--relationships, finances, ministry, career, and more--and, with the Scriptures as her guide, unveils the path to positive forward movement.

Here is a little something from the book:"I will not give in to fear of any kind,Fear of the past,Fear of the present or,Fear of the future.I am blessed to be a blessing until my assignment on this earth has been completed and I am standing face to face with my Jesus, celebrating His completed and perfect work in me. "This inspires me to try harder. It gives me a goal to reach for. The scriptures are also thought-provoking.I like the section about the the 3-D women, Dizzy, Desperate, Digging. The 3-D God:Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent. There's the Personality test and so much more. This book will give you an insight on how to deal with things in this fast-paced, ever changing world. It shows you what to do or say in certain situations, scriptures to read to reinforce your strength and faith. It is easy to read, easy verses to remember, there are references to places where you can download additional information from their website. It tells of ways to get closer to God. Get an idea of what your purpose is and how to find it. This book covers so much, how to fight the battles in our world, our community, our family and our church, it also talks about the Armour Of God in a different way, how to deal with your emotions, intimacy, security, peace and much, much more. This is a good book. Pretty cover, easy to read. Well put together. Sit down with a hot cup of cocoa, curl up and enjoy this book, you'll be glad you did.I received a complimetary copy from Revell Books for my review.

Thoughts

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

Psalm 139:2

From an airplane window on a sunny, clear day, no city on earth could be more beautiful than what you see when flying into Tampa International Airport. Sparkling like glitter, whitecaps rock happy boaters over aqua blue water that is so transparent and clear you swear you can see a blue crab on the sandy bottom from a thousand feet up. Because of our world-class Tampa Bay weather, more often than not the sky is so blue against the ocean that it is difficult to tell where one stops and the other begins. Were it not for the powdery white sand that separates the two dueling delights of God’s creative awesomeness, it would all look like a breathtaking wall of blue.

Have I made you want to take a vacation? (Please let me know if you visit!) It sounds so mesmerizingly thrilling to watch, right?

Wrong.

For me, it is a rare and treasured moment to be relaxed enough to enjoy the beauty of Tampa Bay from the sky. You see, I do not like to fly and am rarely relaxed enough to enjoy the view. In fact, when I surrendered my life to Jesus over thirty years ago, I made a bold announcement to Him (yep—I just said that) that I would do anything for Him and the kingdom of God but speak in front of crowds and fly on airplanes.

Dah, duh, duh, dah!

It’s no real surprise that I have been speaking to crowds and flying on airplanes for about twenty-five years. I have learned to trust God in airplanes. I have reached a place where I refuse to let Satan keep me stuck in fear and steal my love for speaking and travel through fear of flying. Don’t get me wrong. This is not an easy unstuck choice. I have had all the self-talks about the dangers of car driving versus flying. I have scanned the faces of other passengers to see who is on the plane that God would never let perish in a plane crash, such as the adorable (albeit loud) toddler sitting in front of me. I have read Scripture and listened to praise music, all the while soaking a tissue with my tears and praying the person sitting next to me didn’t notice—but surely they did. I have traveled from one airport to another in a plane that was teasing the ground and traumatizing my tummy the entire flight to the point that, upon landing, I fell facedown on the airport floor and thanked Jesus for the ground. And, no, I am not
