About this ebook

In Living Souled Out, Tymme Reitz provides insight into a spiritual insight that exists within each believer: the desire to live completely abandoned and devoted to Jesus the Messiah at any cost. Each chapter examines key aspects of such commitment, ultimately showing that once we are able to measure and perceive life according to a biblical view of worth, purpose, identity, and freedom, we can then understand what it truly means to live souled out, and walk out the fullness of God's design for our lives.

Within these pages, you will be inspired by many scriptural-examples and true-life stories of Tymme and his wife, Aury, that led them to experience growth, transformation, and a life worth living.

"I LOVE THIS BOOK! Tymme Reitz masterfully captures how we should see God, and with relevance, he shows us how every Christian should respond to Him . . . Although I’ve been crazy in love with Jesus for the past 50 years, Living Souled Out challenged me to examine the depth of my devotion to God."

    Foreword

There has been an age-old struggle within a person’s soul after he or she receives Jesus’ gospel as truth, and that is choosing between following Christ or merely associating with Christ. Living Souled Out is a book that offers many ways to be free from this common struggle. Pastor Tymme Reitz does an incredible job of illustrating his amazing testimony and applying sound Biblical wisdom to equip his reader to step out and embrace Jesus Christ with everything.

If there is anyone who understands trading worldly gain for the prize of Jesus Christ it is Tymme Reitz, a successful dancer and choreographer who worked with the hottest pop artists in the world. After years of performing onstage and on camera, Tymme came to the end of himself and began his exciting life journey with God, a path far richer than anything Hollywood could offer.

I have had the great pleasure of working in ministry with this man for fifteen years. His appetite for God’s Word and presence has never wavered.  Even in the midst of dark adversity his pursuit of Jesus has remained authentic and consistent. Tymme is an example of how to keep running toward God when nothing makes sense.

Along with pastoring an amazing church with his wife Aury, Tymme disciples dancers and artists around the world through effective vehicles such as the Urban Dance Festival in Los Angeles and Word In Motion’s Discipleship Program. The common denominator with people who sit under his teaching is a strong commitment to the kingdom of God. It is exciting to see Tymme’s teaching get into the hands of people in every nation. Living Souled Out is sure to help any Christian move into a life of following Christ whole-heartedly versus living as a club member.

    Cannot Be Bought

Have you ever entered a store in attempt to purchase an item that was in high demand, but did not leave with what you wanted simply because it was sold out? It wouldn’t have mattered if you’d brought a shiny black briefcase filled with brand-new, crisp hundred dollar bills. You weren’t going home with the item—it was sold out—it physically could not be bought. Living souled out for God is exactly that. It simply means you cannot be bought.

Souled out was a popular phrase in urban Christian culture when I first became a believer in the ‘90s. It was a statement of devotion to say, My soul is not for sale. It was used when someone wanted to express that nothing could get them to compromise their love for Christ, their faith in Christ, or their call to be like Christ.

Remember the account in Matthew 4:9-10 when Jesus faced His greatest, most strategic opponent? He was given a chance to choose what seemed to be Satan’s best hand. (To us, this offer would have been like the American dream times a thousand.) Satan paraded all the kingdoms of the world and its glory and then attempted to entice Jesus by saying:

"All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."

    Jesus then immediately responded with:

"Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord
