Stalkers of the Mind!

About this ebook
Conversations, not counselling are the hallmarks of these encounters.
Instead of the church leader being god which should never be the case anyway, the spirit of these conversations enabled these moments to be life changing by translating them into very personal answers.
So many of us have problems in the mind and emotions yes, we do not want these less than good attitudes and life warping reflexes, but for change to start we must admit the frustrations, failures and unfulfilled expectations in our life changing.
Why this battle in the thought life?
Why is it so negative, and even ugly?
How are good thoughts perpetuated?
How do we rein in wrong thinking?
Is it possible to control our mind?
And so this series reveals the enemy, and advances answers from the Bible. Solutions for completely healthy, non-medicated mental well-being!

INTRODUCTION
The concepts developed in ‘Stalkers of the Mind’ came out of a series of talks given to a group of Jesus followers in Canada.
They were born out of my habit of talking with anybody and everybody at Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and anywhere else.
Conversations and not counselling are the hallmarks of these encounters; instead of the ‘church leader’ being ‘god’ which should never be the case anyway, I was able to take these moments and translate them into personal answers.
So many of us have problems in the mind and emotions—yes, maybe we are followers of Jesus who established the moral code accepted by millions around the world. But why do we still have this battle in the mind, and conflict between good and bad?
And so these thoughts which aim to reveal tactics and strategies, and easily understood answers for total, healthy, well-being.
To the pioneers of these insights like Leo Harris, E.W.Kenyon, F.B.Meyer, Jessie Penn Lewis, Evan Roberts, Watchman Nee and Madame Guyon a debt of thanks.
My deep and enduring appreciation goes to my wife, Cherie, who constantly has encouraged this work by giving me the necessary ‘oxygen’; also, editing, and design and ideas.

The Question
Of Significance
Does life need meaning? Can human beings enjoy, perhaps in some cases, manage to survive day by day, without their lives having relevance. Is it a must to awake each day with an inner enthusiasm, and an energy which declares ‘I am useful to this world, and today I look forward to making a contribution to it?
Or, is that the everyday life only some can enjoy and I am not one of them. Like the bee hive where the queen is served by the workers who die, worn out in the process of their serving. We can feel our life includes too many yesterdays which seem to accumulate waste products, which steadily grow out of too many failures. This past now ddilutes any positives from living today.
In this context fear, especially the fear of others dwarfs us as we try to make our life as small a target as possible for potential critics. Winston Churchill, Robert Frost and Albert Einstein all had reasons to retreat into a meaningless life.
In 1894 the rhetoric teacher at Harrow in England wrote on a sixteen year olds report card—’a conspicuous lack of success’. Winston Churchill rejected the rejection. Again as a failed politician in World War1, widely expected to become ‘yesterdays man’ Churchill was welcomed back as the successful wartime Prime Minister of Great Britain in 1939-45. He became Sir Winston Churchill, affectionately known as ‘Winnie’.
In 1902, the poetry editor of ‘The Atlantic Monthly’ returned a selection of poems with the comment, ‘our magazine has no place for your vigorous verse.’ His name was Robert Frost, who then went on to become an outstanding poet of the Twentieth Century but remained practically an unknown for the first forty years of his life. At thirty-nine years of age he had a break with the publication of an anthology of his poems which was publicly widely acclaimed. Reject the rejection of fear and people!
In 1905, the University of Bern turned down a doctorate dissertation as being irrelevant and fanciful. His school teachers had already declared him a slow learner, but then this young physicist sprang to world renown, becoming a household name—Albert Einstein!
Many are the examples of people who have risen from failure, rejecting the thoughts, judgements and edicts of the world around them and became achievers. It appears the positives of a meaningful life are found in faith, truth, status,
