Part 1: The Black Sheep Rises
Charlie was born in the summer of 1880 in Tampa, Florida to two prominent political families. His father, a surgeon during the civil war stationed in Brooksville, would later become Mayor of Tampa from 1878 to 1880. He was heralded for his milestones for the Cuban community, along with his founding of the Tampa Chambers of Commerce. Charlie’s mother was of Scottish decent, whose father James also was mayor of Tampa from 1859 to 1860. Charlie McKall had what some would say a foot in
