A Path Through the Cancer Fields - Dr Frances Robinson
Ward
Introduction
You or someone in your family gets cancer. Cancer is on the rise; in fact it is an epidemic. Make sure you have a good GP to enable you to access the best treatment.
Try to pick the best (and most honest) specialist within your monetary means. (Advice from a good GP helps there.)
Face the reality. Get the facts clearly. Okay, you are afraid. Face you fears, what will be will be! It is what it is!
Destiny and life’s dramas play out here to teach you as you progress through life. We all die someday. As my body ages I do not understand why people cling to life. I am a soul, I will go on, do I have to degrade and fade in this mortal coil? With pain and discomfort and unable to do what I used to relish? It is what it is! Science has come a long way since the invention of penicillin after World War II. Get the facts on cancer.
Rule 1: Get a good GP who can help you make decisions.
Rule 2: Help yourself to get the best and most honest specialist who can help you.
Rule 3: Find out all the facts about your position and prognosis. The GP and correct specialist will help with this.
○ What is the type/aggression/stage?
○ What is the prognosis?
○ What will the treatment do to me and how will it leave me functioning?
A good doctor shares these things. The person makes the decision and deals with the family/relationships.
Rule 4: If the treatment is killing you, pull out! Stop! Desist!
Rule 5: Pray, and best of luck. Destiny doesn’t reveal itself until it’s ready.
Rule 6: Make all preparations for all events ahead of time (it is sensible, not negative).
Having worked in the Cancer Fields for over ten years I now find what I consider bad treatment is common, and good treatment is hard to get. It is to me clearly black and white - good and bad.
Rule 1: Get a good GP
I was at the hospital and a black lady came to see me, with breast cancer. All systems change with time, but at that time I was a link in the cog. I took her history - biopsy in November, positive cancer, cancelled surgery due to waiting list and Christmas shutdowns. She presented to me in February with a sizable lymph node in the neck. Conclusion: she had gone from having a possibly curable breast cancer to a palliative case with metastosis while
