Preface
By The Author
I would like to make a humble attempt to convince my fellowmen on why poetry should be highly valued. I feel there is a little degeneration in a sense that poetry is an art of imitation and imagination. Required by the exigencies of the present age to defend poetry in general, it was necessary to show different aspects of human life it deals with. I think that there is a need for a proper understanding of the nature and function of serious poetry. Poetry in all countries has preceded other branches of learning. We are to understand that poetry only enables man to read and utilize learning of other kinds. I would like to assert that the end of all learning is virtuous action and a meaningful life and we can see that poetry serves this end in the best way.
The importance of studying classic literature is also a necessity today as they provide us much knowledge and wisdom, amusing and instructing human minds for ages. I tried to show the different reasons and situations for the degeneration of classic poetry through these pages.
I am sincerely grateful to late Guru Nitya Chaithanya Yati, for his guidance and inspiration to complete this work.

Foreword
(On An Apology For Shakespeare)
This is a humble attempt to defend poetry and its manifold forms in the present age, and a lamentation and a revelation on the loss of tender human feelings and the ability to appreciate a meaningful life from the society at large. God’s presence and existence in the universe is asserted. It voices against the negative and indifferent attitude of people towards the virtues and good qualities in human life. Satan’s attempt in various forms to influence the mankind and the degree of his success is vividly shown. It creates an awareness of the vanishing values and ideals from the life of this generation to the goodness and nature. The unfolded ignorance of the present age generation how to build up a meaningful life can be seen in it. It is an attempt to teach the mankind how one can inspire others and live for the welfare of his fellow beings. It clearly shows the need of practicing universal fraternity and a call for the survival of human sympathy for the inner growth.
The name Shakespeare refers to poetry as a whole in its wide sense. The master refers to a great Teacher of Indian Philosophy namely Guru Nitya Chaithanya Yati who influenced, inspired the author very much
