Open Data for Resilience Initiative Field Guide

In 2011, the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery created the Open Data for Resilience Initiative (OpenDRI) to apply the concepts of the global open data movement to the challenges of reducing vulnerability to natural hazards and the impacts of climate change. OpenDRI is a partnership of governments and international institutions that are building a deeper, collective understanding of risk by sharing information about their hazards, exposure, vulnerability, and risks. This field guide provides planners and program officers with a map of how to catalogue their existing data, engage at-risk communities in mapping and curating data about their built environment, and build partnerships around data.
