Beyond the valley of the nudist dinosaurs, upon the second highest peak of Mount Frankula, stood Brickabrack Hall. Once, it had been the home of a notorious undead fiend, who would rise from his coffin at night to terrorize the world of the living. Thankfully, he moved to Hollywood with the rest of the movie producers. After he left, the Hall was converted into a glamourous hotel, which drew wealthy tourists from all over the world. The building had over six hundred rooms and only three employees on the staff. However, because of the hard work that they put into their jobs, Brickabrack Hall had gained a reputation for being the ritziest of ritzy resorts in all of Ritzfield (which was definitely saying something). If you had listened to the whispers in the nearby village of Glumme, you might have even heard stories that would make your spine shiver, your knees shake and your alphabet soup spell scary words in a fearful fit. Because some said that Brickabrack Hall was no ordinary hotel.
Some said that it was haunted.
It all began on an early, Saturday morning. While children across the globe were huddled around their television sets, watching their favourite cartoons, Ivana Von Koosh was busy as a bee. First, she would have to dust the eastern wing of the hotel, then the front hall would need sweeping, then the dining room needed a good mop and then she would have to tackle a hundred other chores before her date with Lenny tonight.
I wish Mr Skinflint would hire more staff.
She sighed to herself with an accent that betrayed her Transylvanian heritage. It
