About this ebook
A workbook of short stories with "lessons learned" to be used as a tool to inspire you to discover and write your own life's stories.
The following reviews from people of different faiths show that these stories can be used as a tool for you also, to leave a legacy for your family or those whom you cherish.
“More than just giving the reader a nice autobiography however, you make a valiant effort to inspire your readers to be more thoughtful about themselves. To glean the lessons and value from the events in their own lives. And to write about the things that occur to them and their feelings and conclusions regarding those occurrences. This is a very noble pursuit that will greatly enrich the lives of anyone that follows your example and instruction. Personally I felt inspired to be more diligent in examining my own life and in writing my thoughts and feelings.”
- Brian Simms
"Ann's book is so helpful in encouraging you to be "mindful" in your own life. I find myself so often pushing forward as best I can in the blur of day-to-day, but Ann has reminded me not only to hold on to my daily experiences so that I may build a treasure of memories, but also to reflect on those experiences so that I may glean important lessons from even the most ordinary of events. Thank you, Ann!"
- Katie Esser
“I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ann's book. There are so many moments in her life that so closely parallel my own. I laughed (and cried) right along with her. She so vividly portrayed her experiences that I felt like I was right there with her sharing her stories of trials and triumphs. She is an inspiration to me to write about my life. Ann helped me to realize that every event in our lives, no matter how large or small, helps to shape us into the people we are. Thanks so much for such an uplifting book!”

How to Use this Workbook
The Journey - Volume 1 workbook contains 27 lessons learned. These are in the form of stories, anecdotes, quips, and words to songs. They range from the lighthearted to the deeply thoughtful and do not have to be read in any particular order as each stands alone. Each story used is purposely short to serve as an example. Your own stories are welcome to be as lengthy and detail-filled as it takes to portray your thoughts. Also, included is an inspirational quotation. The format is definitely, and the moral of the story is…
Here are three suggested ways to utilize this workbook:
1: Several of the lessons function as inspirational thoughts or readings. Use them as is, or write your own excellent inspirational thought(s).
2: Strengthen friendships or family relationships by scheduling an activity to discuss a story and write one of your own.
3: Start keeping a journal if you have not already begun doing so. Use the story given as a launching point if you need a place to start. As opposed to a diary that lists daily events, a journal reflects your thoughts and feelings about those events. There are no rules to journal keeping except those you set for yourself. The important thing is to just start doing it.
Once you are past this introduction, you will find that this workbook contains six labeled sections. The first section contains a place for you to list personal information (like your resume, your interests, and your genealogy). The following five sections open up to contain a lesson learned
and a place for you to also write. You may certainly also add your own categories, of vocations or hobbies or specifically like Pets I have Known, or Vehicles I have Owned or Repaired.
As you would expect, my stories reflect my life’s experiences. The fact that I am a Christian translates into my viewing life through this spiritual perspective. I am hopeful that your writing will reflect your values and perspective and be a positive experience for you and for those with who you share this.
