About this ebook

Ever moved to a city you didn't know, for a guy who wasn't worth it all because you thought you were in love?

Sarah Walker has.

She's just moved to L.A. and changed her whole life in anticipation of cohabitation with her fiancé, Benjamin. But he stalls, again. Pushed to the limit, the stability-seeking Sarah snaps and actually finds herself dumping him. Now she's in free fall: no fiancé, no job. No idea what to do next.

According to her new roommate Martika, Sarah is now in the perfect place to start life in L.A.

Before she knows it, Sarah becomes Martika's project, getting pulled headlong into a crazy, chaotic world of nightclubs and day jobs, where the only constant is change. Sarah's about to discover that "single" isn't a dirty word. Not that she'll be staying single for long .

I really enjoyed the story of the British girl in Hollywood and her trials and tribulations. Cute from start to finish.

I liked another book I read by her, but with this one, I couldn't decide whether I liked it or not. It feels like one of those chick lit novels written in the day. It's fluffy with an edge, but ultimately, nothing much happens. It's like eating cheap chocolate. You don't want to stop, but it doesn't make you feel good afterwards, and chances are, you instantly forgot all about it anyway.

Sarah moves to LA ahead of her fiancé to set things up, and then he stalls and is soon no longer her fiancé. Stuck in a strange place, she soon meets Taylor, who becomes her new gay best friend. He in turn introduces her to party girl Martika, who moves in to help with the rent and schools her in the club scene. Not my thing, but interesting to read about.

Yes, another book of the female sort, but this one was definitely not superficial. It's not a new concept: older woman influences young girl, but it was still an enjoyable read. I actually cared about the characters and wondered how it would all end. I felt like it could've been way more developed, and that perhaps that development would even have moved it out of the whole "chick lit" genre, but it wasn't and so the book has a not-finished feel to it. Still enjoyed it though.
