Sara-Jane’s tone and attitude softened. “Are you disappointed?”

Miss nodded. “A little. Like you, I guess I didn’t want changes either. I like this, being with you two, serving you both, being your...slave.”

Now Sara-Jane reached out and rubbed Miss’s shoulder. It was a casual gesture that would have been completely natural in any other context except that Sara-Jane was clothed and Miss was naked except for her collar. “We like it too. But changes happen. Sara-Jane dismissed her with a nod and sat down to watch her movie. Miss retreated to the kitchen and threw away the diaphragm for the second time.

She came to the unfortunate conclusion that here was no role for her in the next stage of the Adlers’ lives.

Later in the night as Sara-Jane was about to go upstairs to her bed Miss met her once more. “Is that why master was so angry with me last night?”

Sara-Jane paused and then nodded yes. “He’s been taking his anger out on you and I couldn’t let that happen anymore.”

Miss was speechless. Sara-Jane walked around her. She couldn’t believe Mr. Adler’s wife was making such a sacrifice for her. She was certain that deep down Sara-Jane hated her and only pretended to tolerate the other woman in her house and bed.

Maybe that wasn’t the case.

Chapter Seven

Claude was in a better mood the next morning and the couple along with their slave fell into a pleasant routine. Miss would serve them in the morning and at night while she worked in the house and garden during the day. Tony continued to build the gazebo and continued to receive whatever form of physical reward he requested from Miss. She was happy to serve him as well.
