About this ebook
One sheet of paper is laid on top of another while the brass bell rings and the saxophone player plays. Meanwhile a sea of female flesh dazzles while pubic triangles are askew at Mike’s bar. An isolated woman shouts, “Let me suffer my fate.” A naked jagged bolt of lightening kills. It scorches the earth.

A Chrome Plated Cube Lies Within a Cracked Eggshell - Erich von Neff
A chrome plated cube
lies within a cracked eggshell
The chrome plated cube cries,
"Let me out.
Let me out."
when gently released
The chrome plated cube says,
"Set me on your table.
Polish me.
Rub me.
Be fascinated by me.
Never drop me.
Never let me hit the floor."
The Urinal*
I rubbed my fingers
on the smooth pine plank
next to the urinal
Affixed to the plank
is the partition
The partition that hides
my penis from the next guy
As I rub the plank I ask,
"Speak up.
Who has rubbed you before?
Did you bring them good luck?
For you bring good luck
whenever someone rubs your smooth surface.
You speak not.
Perhaps you know too much.
Who are you really?
I rub you.
I piss into the urinal.
I flush.
I flush again.

The New York Visit to San Francisco (1964)
He huddled in the closet
I doubt he thought much about Euclid
or trigonometry
He huddled there for four hours
listening to his girlfriend laugh and joke
with her parents
while eating
and he heard the clink of silverware
and the slurp of soup
He being black
and she a nice white woman
from New York
He being black
was not acceptable
to her parents
And so she hid him in the closet
What did he think about
during those four hours?
And she?
And her parents?
They were in abstracted harmony
with their daughter
Though they did not think about Euclid
or trigonometry
----
*Told to me by the New York woman involved. Thankfully I have forgotten her name though I should remember his.
Velvet
It all begins with me,
Vivienne said
"With my sumptuous lips
With my luscious skin
velvet smooth
velvet within velvet
But what is skin without touch?
Follow my path to ecstasy
The Valley of the Moon will encompass you
Taste my sumptuous lips
Float in the darkness
Seek in the void"
Softly My Friend
He stuttered as he began to speak
Instinctively I stretched out my arm
and put my hand on his shoulder
I listened with what I thought
was an neutral look on my face
Though really it was a reassuring look
The 49ers** lost,
he said
