About this ebook
The high technology of the late 21st Century has given us 300-story hyper-buildings for working, sentient robots for laboring and immaculate white sand beaches for relaxing. Texas’ innovative thinking has helped to usher in this era of prosperity and progress. The closer people get a goal, any goal, the more flaws they seem to find. The flaws may be real or only imagined. That's the dark side of perfection.

Matthew B. Thompson is a native Texan and an avid fan of science, science-fiction and history. He has a background in physics and biology with a very good understanding of engineering and evolutionary genetics. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout at a young age, but was stricken with a very serious tumor shortly after earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He beat the odds, even though he had less than a 1% chance of survival. To shock his doctors even further ... he started walking again. To EVERYONE'S amazement ... he got married. He is now the stay-at-home father for their small child.

Pre-teen children scuffle to their school desks. Each student sits at a chair and desk combination with a thick, rounded knob attached to its front, right side. The classroom is rectangular, and the only door is near the corner of the room. The teacher’s desk sits near the door, and there is a much larger rounded knob above it. Both knobs are light brown in color.
