live in an area called Heideveld in Itʼs only 20 minutes from the CBD, but itʼs one of the roughest areas in the world in which to live. Itʼs a product of apartheid, an area where black and brown bodies were forced to move. Itʼs overpopulated and overrun with drugs and gangsterism but itʼs also an area where thereʼs a lot of positivity, where good people do their best to provide for their community. Itʼs an area thatʼs very big on sports: soccer, rugby, cricket, you name it. So there is a lot of good, and despite the bad that goes on, itʼs the area that I grew up in, that I know and care about. Itʼs my home, and I care for the kids growing up here.
